In the fourteenth chapter we are introduced to this image that, the symbol that John sees of the Lamb standing on mount Zion accompanied by the 144,000 that we have heard so much about in a lot of prophesy teaching. But the lamb that he sees is the symbol of Jesus in his finished work standing on mount Zion. Why is he standing on mount Zion and not on some other mountain? Because it’s upon this mountain, the very highest elevation in all of the city of Jerusalem that he has ascended to.

It’s not just a geographical place, even though Zion is an actual mountain. In the 12th chapter of Hebrews, the apostle there talks about how “we have not come unto mount Sinai which is a mountain that can’t be touched.

Hebrews 12
18Unlike your ancestors, you didn't come to Mount Sinai--all that volcanic blaze and earthshaking rumble-- 19to hear God speak. The earsplitting words and soul-shaking message terrified them and they begged him to stop. 20When they heard the words--"If an animal touches the Mountain, it's as good as dead"--they were afraid to move. 21Even Moses was terrified.
22No, that's not your experience at all. You've come to Mount Zion, the city where the living God resides. The invisible Jerusalem is populated by throngs of festive angels 23and Christian citizens. It is the city where God is Judge, with judgments that make us just. 24You've come to Jesus, who presents us with a new covenant, a fresh charter from God. He is the Mediator of this covenant. The murder of Jesus, unlike Abel's--a homicide that cried out for vengeance--became a proclamation of grace.

Mountain of Law Kills
Here’s the thing about why only Moses could go up Mount Sinai and no one else. In fact, not even an animal was allowed to wander off around the mountain. If even an animal were to approach the mountain, it would die. This isn’t just about God’s sovereignty and we can’t touch him. The truth is, we can touch him, intimately. Paul himself said “Therefore brethren, we come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy” (Hebrews 4:16).

But instead God was establishing the fact that this mountain, Mount Sinai, was associated to the giving of the law and no man can keep the law. The law itself, in your attempts to keep it, will kill you, just like touching that mountain would kill you. Mount Sinai is an emblem of the law. That mountain couldn’t be touched, but here in Hebrews 12 it states that there’s another mountain, a Mount Zion which is a mountain that “could” be touched.

Understand also that this has applications that refer to your personal life in God. There are times in your walk with God when you “could” be touched, and yet other times in your walk where you couldn’t be touched. Anybody that touched you, experienced death. Anybody that got near you and tried to touch you would feel your wrath, you couldn’t touch or be touched. In the same way Jesus rose from the dead before he ascended into the heavens, he looks at Mary who so desperately wants to grab on to him and embrace him but his response to her was “Don’t touch me for I have not yet ascended to my Father.” This same Jesus who said “don’t touch me” shows up the next day and he’s behind closed doors with the disciples and there he invites them to “touch me.”

Again, It’s Already Happened
The sacrifice hadn’t yet been completed with Mary. He hadn’t carried the blood, as Hebrews talks about and sprinkled it on the holy utensils in heaven. Now, that’s a whole other theme, but I want you to see this passage in Revelation 14 is not something that is futuristic. It’s not something that God “will” do in the future. It’s something that has already happened. That comes as a revelation, pardon the pun, to many people when they hear that what we’re reading about here in Revelation 14 is not something that “will” happen, but it’s something that “has” happened.

Numbers are Symbols
When it describes him standing on Mount Zion, and it talks about this 144,000 people. This is not an ethnic category of Jewish people as we’ve been taught all of our lives. Remember throughout all the book of Revelation there are many numbers that are used that imply certain spiritual truths. They’re not exact in their calculation as we would like for them to mean, but they instead have certain symbolic meaning to us. And we have to crack the code, if you will, in understanding what they really mean.

It’s All in your Mind
The number 666 for instance isn’t just about those three numerals lined up in a row, we’ve already talked about that. The number 144,000 has to do with a multiple of 12’s. It should be very easy for us to see that 12 x 12 = 144. When we take that and realize that when we see “thousands” in Scripture it has to do with kingdom realities. Trust me on that one without having to go into an in-depth explanation of what all that means. So if he sees 144,000 here on Mount Zion “with” the Lamb and they have on their foreheads the name of their Father, which has to do with the work of the cross in your mind.

We have understood in our minds the work of the cross, we’ve been given, not only a new name, but a new mind. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God Romans 12:1. God wants to renew our minds to the work that happened on the cross.

That’s the reason why Jesus was not crucified just on any mountain, but on a hill called skull. It’s shaped like a skull, it looks like a skull. God wants to redeem us from the mark of the beast in our minds and put the mark of the Father in our minds. He’s marking our minds which is to say our understanding, he wants to put a mark in our minds so that we can hear the voice of the Lord.

If the 144,000 isn’t an ethnic category of Jews, who are they? Not only does it represent the New Testament Christian, but the Old as well because in that city that we’re going to examine in the chapters ahead, it has 12 foundations and 12 gates. In the foundations there are the names of the Apostles and in the gates there are the names of those Old Testament that represent the 12 tribes of Israel. 12 x 12, which makes up this city. If you look at Hebrews 12 and compare the 144,000 in Revelation 14, you’ll find out that this innumerable company that has come to mount Zion.

Are you able to do some digging on your own on these matters? Do you have teeth? Not physical, teeth, spiritual. Do you have the ability to take spiritual matters and chew on them, dwell on them, contemplate them, digest them. Or do you have to have someone else do all the chewing for you? Or are you more content just drinking milk.

Side Note
I was doing some personal reading the other day, completely set apart from this particular study, and I came across a place in Judges where a woman drove a spike through a man’s head, but leading up to that, he’d asked her for water . . .but instead she brought him milk. I didn’t think much of it until later when there was a song they’d sung about her and they included the fact that he’d asked for water and she gave him milk . . .from that, I’m learning there was a great significant symbol there dealing with the spirit and the carnal mindsets. (Judges 4:19, 5:25)

Perhaps the milk she gave was all in the presentation in that milk has always been coupled with honey. To have milk meant you were over-flowing with blessing. Perhaps it was her intention to put this man at ease by giving him milk instead of water to show him she was willing to give him the best she had, so that he could trust her enough to fall to sleep under her watch. Spiritually, the man asked for water, or the spiritual things of God, but because this man was an enemy of God, he couldn’t begin to consume the things of the Spirit, thus he was offered milk, which is spiritual food for spiritual babies. But he never rejected it, he was quite satisfied with this replacement and it cost him his life.
End of Edit

Back on Track.
“We have come into Mount Zion an innumerable company.” (Hebrews 12) You know who Mount Zion is? You are Mount Zion. It is not some place we’re going to in the middle east, YOU – ARE- MOUNT – ZION!!! Even in the natural when you look at a mountain I can see that it is the compression of earth that rises up off the plains toward the heavens. Mountains in Scripture speak of kingdoms of men as well as kingdoms of God.

Defiling With Women
God is amassing a people, he’s compressing them together. Mount Zion and the lamb stand upon it. As we mentioned earlier about verses 2 and 3 that it is almost a complete repeat of what we saw in the 5th chapter about the throne and the worship that’s happening around the throne. But now we come to verse 4. These are they which have not defiled themselves with women”. He’s describing here this remnant church, those who have not compromised or been contaminated by the corrupt system of the first century that would cause men to compromise their belief in Christ by saying they were Christians, but at the same time worship Caesar.

Virginicity (Yes it’s a word because I said so!)
Remember that was their only option. Either worship Caesar or die. That was the ultimatum. Either they recanted their belief in Christ and give honor to Caesar, which as we spoke about earlier, called himself to be God, right? But he’s saying here that this group of people, they have been redeemed from the earth and that they have not been defiled with women and they are virgins. Now, pay close attention to this. When the Bible refers to somebody being a virgin, it doesn’t necessarily imply that they have had sexual contact with anybody. He that hath an ear . . .

Some will ask “then what does that do with a virgin birth?” Well, I’m talking about in every instance in Scripture, when that term is used, it’s not always referencing someone that has not had sexual contact. When we have the prophecy concerning Jesus and Mary his mother, she was in fact without question, a virgin in every sense of the word. But one of the things that causes us to really lose touch of everything God wants to teach us is that whenever we see the word virgin, it scares us to death because we know how impure we are. We know that we’re not innocent and we understand how contaminated and corrupted we’ve become. Isn’t this true?

Being a Christian isn’t about “Doing” Anything
In fact if there’s anything that man is afraid of, in the natural and spiritual, it’s intimacy. When in fact, it’s always been God’s ultimate purpose, it’s all God has ever wanted. God has never really wanted you to do anything “for” him. All he’s really wanted is for you to “be” with him. We think, because religion has taught us, that a relationship with God is about doing things, but it’s not about doing, instead it’s about “being” with him.

We will substitute being with him, for doing for him. It’s because we’re afraid of intimacy. We’re afraid of something that was lost by Adam and Eve. They were “naked” and not ashamed. That’s not just about not having clothes on, but it’s about vulnerability, transparency, it’s about being free from my insecurities. It’s about me realizing that there are certain things I can’t hide and God doesn’t care that I can’t hide them. In the natural you can be born a virgin and become a harlot, but in the spiritual you could’ve started out a harlot, but you’ve become a virgin.

Back to the Garden
This was something I took time to write down when God first revealed it to me because it blessed me so much. Because I understand personally how corrupted my own mind has been. I understand the images that are there that I can’t just wipe out. And I’m not just talking about the things that are sensual and pornographic nature because there are some things that are much more deadly than that. Things that seek to steal my vulnerability and my willingness to come before God. If I’m ever going to get back into the garden, which is where God wants to take every one of you is back to the Garden.

I’m not talking about some place in the middle east again, no. The Bible speaks about it in the Song of Solomon concerning that woman “my sister my spouse is a garden inclosed” and that’s where many of you are right now in Christ and he’s working in you and he’s sown something in you. He has seed in you but your still closed, you’re a garden enclosed, shut-up. What God really desires is to get you back into the garden so that you can be naked and not ashamed, so you can walk with him in the cool of the day. Again, I’m not talking about when the temperature cools in the evening, I’m talking about walking in the spirit of the day, so that you can walk with him in the garden.

The Two Marys
In 2 Corinthians 11, the apostle Paul says “I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy because I have espoused you to Jesus. That you may be presented to him as a virgin.” (2 Corinthians 11:2) See again, that is a word that doesn’t compute when we see the spiritual understanding of the word “virgin” being used. But I’m here to announce to you that just as surely as God chose a little girl who was somewhere between the age of 14 and 17 years old by the name of Mary, who live in the area of Judea. Just as surely as he chose her, who’d never known a man, who’d never been with a man, who’d never experienced a sexual encounter before in her life as sure as she was chosen to be the womb that would give birth to His precious Son, isn’t interesting to us another woman named Mary out of whom he’d cast out seven devils to go to the tomb to conceive the new seed of the resurrected body of Jesus Christ.

What I’m trying to tell you if you don’t understand what I’m saying as I meander around here, is that I don’t care how bad you feel about yourself, I don’t care how corrupted or contaminated or evil or wicked or perverse that you think that you might have been, in Christ Jesus you are the righteousness of God!! You are a virgin!!!

Revelation 14:4
4These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth

Following the Lamb
Isn’t it interesting, that they’re not following a shepherd, nor are they following a lion, but they’re following a lamb. The thing that’s unusual about that is that lambs usually are following the shepherd or the flock instead of being followed “by” the flock. Now when it says that we’re following the lamb and we know we’re not talking about some furry creature here obviously right? Just keeping things in spiritual perspective. When we speak about a Scriptural lamb, we’re always speaking about the death of Jesus because whenever he’s spoken of as the lamb it’s referring to his death which was the atonement for our sins. As lambs were literally sacrificed for centuries prior to his coming to this planet, it’s important for you if you’re ever going to have a complete comprehensive revelation of this book, that we’ve been in for the past year, that you follow the lamb where ever he goes.

What does that actually mean? “Where he leads me I will follow, I’ll go with him all the way.” We sing about following him wherever he goes but do we understand the depth of what we’re claiming? If we understand the total work of Christ, some of us have identified ourselves with his substitutionary death, he has died “for” you and I’ve been saying this for months now, but have not come to understand that he not only died “for” you but he also died “as” you.

Which means if he died “as” me, then a lot of the sin-conscousness that you and I still have, a lot of the baggage and hang-ups that we haven’t hung up yet, and a lot of the things the plague our minds and a lot of the things that we find wrong with our self, if we would finally come to this revelation, the unveiling, like the veil that was torn not from side to side or bottom to top, but top to bottom. The reason why you can’t walk out certain things in your Christian experience is because the veil hasn’t been torn from top to bottom. And you haven’t fully seen that his death was “as” you. I’ll keep saying this . . .I think if you keep pouring hot lead down the same hole, eventually, something has to give.

Positioned WITH Christ NOW
Follow the Lamb wherever so he goeth”. Follow the lamb? What did he mean by that? Where did he go? He not only went to the cross, he not only was put in the tomb, but he ascended. You’ve got to begin to see yourself, not from your past to your present, or see yourself in a horizontal fashion, but you’ve got to see yourself in an ascended position “with” him. Some of you are waiting on this to happen when you die or when the rapture takes place, when it’s something that God wants you to have as a present experience, now.

If I were the devil, I would convince you that all these things are for the future and I would forever keep you frustrated in living, failing at everything you attempt in God. But if I could ever get you to the point that you see not yourself, but see him in you and only then would you be able to follow the lamb, wherever so he goeth, not just to the cross or the tomb but to his ascention, high and lifted up above all the things that frustrate and trouble you.

Where did the lamb go?
He went beyond the veil, beyond the veil of the flesh. His blood didn’t just touch the outer court or the holy place, but the holy of holies. Beyond our own reach, beyond our own dimension, beyond our own understanding. What I’m trying to tell you if you haven’t understood it as of yet is, most of you have had the cross preached to you and have been baptized in the water as well as in the spirit, still don’t understand there is something still waiting on you. There’s still something more. I don’t care how long you’ve been in the church or how much you’ve heard. I’ve cut my teeth on the pews of the church, my Dad was a Pastor. I’ve heard the word of God all of my life, but I still know there’s something still out there for me to grow into and receive. I understand that what I have learned and understood is only the earnest, it’s only a down-payment. I’ve only tasted some of these things.

Been-There-Done-That Religion
I hope this is an encouragement to those who view church as a hum-drum experience. How many of you are tired church and you’ve heard it all. You’ve been here and you’ve done that and you’ve been slain in the spirit and you’ve talked in tongues, you’ve prophesied and you’ve been prophesied to. And you’ve been used by the Holy Ghost and you’ve done this and you’ve done that. You’ve preached and you’ve taught and you’ve worshiped and been at all the conferences in the country. I want to tell you of all the things you’ve tasted and touched, It’s only a fraction of what he has for us. There’s something more!!!

First Fruits
These were redeemed from among men, the first fruits of God unto the lamb. First fruits, what are they? This phrase should cause us to remember from the Old Testament there was a feast called the feast of first fruits. This first fruits was about how the husbandmen would go out into the fields that he had planted and he’d go out to specific parts of the field and harvest the wheat or whatever was planted, that was ripe first. That’s why it’s called first fruits. In every garden there are some things that mature faster than others.

It’s not to say the whole field isn’t good, but instead it’s a precursor of what’s to come. It’s an announcement or a down-payment. Those first fruits were gathered up and taken and waved before the Lord as an offering unto the Lord. The tithe is called first fruits. The reason why God wanted the first child to be dedicated unto him is because it’s the first-fruits from the womb. It has all kinds of implications. But Jesus, the Bible says in Romans, was our first fruits. The first born among many brethren.

Now what he’s talking about here concerning these men that are virgins, these men had not, this is a remnant church that would not compromise. They would not accept the compromise the Jewish faith at that time who’d been willing to say at that time, remember when they crucified Jesus they said this, “we will not have this man to rule over us”. And the same people that believed there was no other God but the God of Israel, said “we will not have this man to rule over us” out of that same mouth they said “let Ceasor be Lord.”

Now historically speaking, that has implications, but with us, in the contemporary setting is also has implications because there are people that have not remained true to their commitment to God. And they have found themselves compromising, coddling and embracing things because it was convenient. They have found themselves not willing to say what God is saying, but say what everybody else is saying. An adulterous mind and an adulterous spirit that is willing to lay down in the street with any old religious spirit just so it can be accepted.

Spiritual Harlotry
I want to tell you there are but a few voices that are out there speaking in the world today with a virgin spirit. They are only true to Him and not to men. My commitment and my covenant is not with a denomination or an organization even though I’m not taking criticism with them here now. My commitment is with Him. I am a virgin committed and consecrated unto him, I’ll say what he says. We become harlots when we receive seed from all kinds of men. That’s what causes us to be harlots.

We look down our noses at people who walk down the streets of the city with their dress up to their backside, twisting and squirming, trying to entice some man into a lustful experience so she can be paid out of his gratification. But there’s more harlotry that goes on in church on Sunday morning than any whore house in the city.

I’m not so much appalled by those walking down the street with a red dress on. What I’m appalled most by is those harlots who stand in pulpits and because you pay so much and you give so much, they will produce programs that will appeal to you and satisfy you as well as gratify you. Are you hearing what I’m saying? What causes this “harlot spirit” is the fact that she receives seed from more than one man.

First fruits. Historical Truths
This first fruits company was a group of people who were the evidence of his resurrection. Can you imagine these people in the first century at how stunned and amazed these Romans would be with the first century Christians as they persecuted them. They would torture them in hideous ways to their death and yet they wouldn’t renounce their faith in Jesus Christ. I’ve referred to it several times in this study, of the book of Fox’s book of Martyrs. Not to mention all the other historical records that give you a vivid understanding of the perversions of men as they literally took pleasure in searching how gory can they take someone to their death.

They died unspeakable deaths simply because the Roman Emperor could not get them to renounce their faith in Christ and in so doing, they would confess that Ceaser was God. Can you imagine how amazed the Romans would be to see these Christians willingly go to their horrific death, one after another, simply because they wouldn’t bend a knee to the emperor. What was in them? What was it that would cause these people that they would have such perseverance and such faith that they would not renounce Christ in the face of a death that could take hours? They were the first fruits.

Jesus Is Corny
Some of you are always focusing on yourself and you don’t understand that your ability to stand is in God. You are impressed by some of these Old Testament saints and by some of these New Testament believers and I too am impressed. But I want to tell you if you have perseverance, if you have faith, it’s not because of who you are, but it’s because of who he is in you. They are the first fruits of the resurrection. They just had a seed in them. Jesus said that if a kernel of corn abideth alone, it will profit nothing, but if that seed falleth in the ground, it will bring forth much fruit. Jesus fell into the ground when he died upon the cross and they buried him in that garden tomb. He fell into the ground as he prophesied in John 12, but 50 days later, 3,000 souls came into the kingdom of God.

The first fruits, that seed multiplied into 3000 seeds, then a day later it was 8,000 seeds and a few weeks later it became a “multitude”. The power of the resurrection seed of Jesus Christ in you is able to keep you in and through anything. Some may think that God never called us to the mission field, God never called me to some far away country, God would never do that because if I was put in a situation where I had to choose between holding on tenaciously to my Faith in Christ or die I would probably renounce or deny Jesus.

Faith In Faith
The reason why they respond that way is because your faith is in your faith and not in the faith of the son of God. We teach people to defeat rather than to win. We teach our young people so much about sin and the evils of sin, rather than the conquering Christ, the resurrected Lord of Jesus Christ. If we would teach them about who they are in Christ then they would go out there and temptation is going to come, it’s going to be there, waiting on them right now. Sin crouches at the door like the Bible tells us in the book of Genesis. It is waiting to get in, for you to to open your door just a crack so that a foot-hold can be obtained by the enemy. That foothold quickly turns into a stronghold into your life

Enemy Awareness, But Not Enemy Emphasis
We teach them so much about that rather than teach them the power that has been given to all of us. Is it important to know the enemy exists? Of course it is, but it’s not the emphasis. The fact that Satan does exist and “is” just waiting for us to give him the smallest opportunity, is not the end of our lives as believers. We emphasize the fact that perfection will never ever be obtained in the natural world we live. We’re human, we’re flesh, we’re going to fall. It’s never a question of “if”, but “when.”

Key to Overcoming Temptation
So to counter that, we preach that repentance must be a daily thing. It must be part of your prayer routine. When the truth is, repentance isn’t what you say or pray, it’s what you do. To repent means to stop doing it. Or just don’t do it anymore. Turn away from it and turn towards the redemption of the blood of the lamb. If we would teach them about the power of the resurrected Lord Jesus, teach them that they don’t have to be defiled. Teach them that the power of God is strong enough to change our MINDS so that we don’t WANT to do sinful things. Temptation is inflating the desire of something we WANT in the first place. Overcoming temptation is not something you can physically do, it’s a battling in your mind. If you have a renewed mind, you’ve overcome temptation to sin.

It’s not Just About Discipline
Teach them that it’s not just about discipline. One of the greatest revelations that ever came to me was that, it’s not just about disciplining my flesh. It’s by the grace of God. We need to teach people the ability to find grace in God, not faith in their own ability to discipline themselves. We think if we fast and pray more, the Bible says to shun the very appearance of evil and come from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord. And touch not the unclean thing, actually that verse of Scripture doesn’t have to do with coming out of the world but coming out of religious communities.

We Are What We Preach
Come out of that religious junk, and come over here and have an understanding of the grace of the Lord Jesus and know that he grace of God can keep you in and through anything. We don’t understand why our kids, who set under the Word of God in the presence and power and influence of the Spirit while they go out and sin. You know why they go out and sin? Because the church talks about it all the time. That’s all we do, we talk about temptation and sin. If they instead heard about Christ and the power of Christ and who he is in them, they would remain virgins wouldn’t they . .amen? For they are the first fruits.

How many believe the quality of the harvest is directly in proportion to the quality of that which is sown. I can’t expect to sow and inferior seed and get a superior harvest. In Genesis it tells me that everything produces after it’s own kind. The reason why we have produced an inferior harvest, in me and in you, and we get disappointed in people is because we have sown and inferior seed in them. We have sown the seed of religion.

Don’t-eronomy Versus Do-teronomy
We’ve tried to teach them “not” to do certain things. “Don’t do this.” “Don’t go there.” “Don’t touch this or touch that.” If we would teach them that the seed is Jesus Christ, the incorruptible seed, we would then get a superior harvest wouldn’t we. First fruits

5And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God

Finding the Fault Lines
Where are you without fault? Where is the place where I can go to where I know there is no fault found in me? Because in “my” house, I’m not without fault. Ask anyone in my family, I’m not without fault. There is a place though where I “am” without fault. And most of us think that this is the place where all of our faults are accentuated and discovered. We are without fault before the throne.

What happens when you come here ever Sunday morning to worship, what is your mind doing to you? Whenever you hear the leaders of worship appealing to you “Let’s go before the throne of God, let’s come before the mind of God.” You’re thinking “I don’t want to go there because something that I’ve hidden may come to the surface and he may find out.” Again, I’ll ask the question, “When do you think God finds out what you’ve done? When you confess it?”

It is before the very throne where you think your sins are being recorded, that there is found no fault in you. The enemy wants to keep us away from the throne because as long as that happens we are always focusing on our faults. But once we get before the throne and experience God’s presence in our very midst, we are without fault. “There is therefore now, no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus!!!” There’s no fault found in them, there’s no guile in their mouth.

Not What Goes in That Defiles You, But What Comes Out
If you have a problem with your mouth, it’s because you’re always going in the opposite direction from the throne. You convince yourself that you have to get things off your chest by “talking” to someone “about” someone else. The first thing a natural doctor will do when giving an examination is to have you open your mouth. What’s he looking for?? He’s probing down your throat, pressing your tongue out of the way looking for infections and inflammations.

Jesus told the Pharisees that they were like an open tomb. There’s deadness coming out of your mouth. When Job got so fed up with himself, he loathed himself that he said “I can’t stand to even smell my own breath.” Did you know he said that? He said “I abhor my own breath.” He’s not talking about halitosis, but he’s talking about his spirit. Your breath is your spirit in Scripture. Much of the reason why people can’t get along with me, they have to walk on eggshells all the time and be careful how they say their words around me all the time is because I can’t even stand myself, let alone think that you can stand me. The only way to get rid of the guile from your mouth is simply to get before the throne.

6And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people Revelation 14

Remembering Definition of Angel
We’ve mentioned this before, but angels, in the Greek it’s Anglos which means messenger. We’re not necessarily thinking that John is seeing some winged creature flying around up over his head on the Isle of Patmos as much as he is having a revelation in spirit language of how there is a message that’s being preached is the everlasting Gospel which is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Don’t miss this, it’s the coming of the kingdom of God.

For those that may think the kingdom of God is in the future, I’ve got news for you, the kingdom of God is not future, it was then when Jesus arrived, it is now with the revelation and presence of his Spirit and it will be when he returns in the same manner he left. It always has been and always will be. The word “kingdom” means that there’s a king and he has a domain.

He is not the “soon coming king” his is the king who is soon coming. He’s always been the king. I’m not waiting for the millennial reign, I’m in the millennial reign now! He is king NOW. He’ll not be any more of a king when he comes and manifest himself in a fleshly body. The everlasting Gospel is the gospel of the Kingdom. There’s only been one gospel ever and it’s the gospel of the kingdom. It’s what Jesus preached through out his ministry, including the last forty days when he showed himself alive by many infallible proofs after his resurrection.

Thy Kingdom Come
What did Jesus come preaching? The gospel of the Kingdom. What did John the Baptist come preaching? The same thing! What does that mean? It has to do with the ultimate and complete and far reaching reign of Jesus Christ. So why would that be important for this to be announced now to every kindred and tongue and people, especially those that dwell on the earth.

Remember we mentioned earlier when we see the word “land” mentioned it is always referencing Israel. So they have to have an announcement proclaimed to them that the everlasting gospel, the kingdom of God has come. What does that mean? It means that the kingdom of Israel, as it had been before Jesus came, had been taken away from them. Remember when they said concerning Jesus when he was standing there alongside Barabas and Pilate is giving the people a choice and he asked “which one to you choose?” and they responded “we will not have this man rule over us, crucify him and let his blood be upon us and our children.” One generation later, Jerusalem is destroyed along with the temple.

Millions of Jewish people die and the reason for that was because it was an announcement made in the heavens because the gospel was being preached for those thirty years between his resurrection and ascension and the destruction of Jerusalem under the Roman general that was sent there to put a stop to the civil battles that were becoming out of control.

That was an announcement that the kingdom of God had come to replace the old kingdom, the nation of Israel. They chose to protect their identity with the very religion that destroyed them and murdered Jesus. But a new kingdom arrived. A kingdom of Priests. I hope you hear what I’m saying. This everlasting gospel, in fact in John’s day or shortly after, the gospel was preached to the entire world. For those in the church still waiting for the fulfillment of the passages in Matthew and other gospels concerning the kingdom being preached to the ends of the earth? It’s already happened.

Editor’s Note
Even though the Jews rejected the coming of the kingdom of God, it didn’t stop the kingdom of God from coming. Denying truth doesn’t’ change the fact that truth is still truth. Twisting the truth doesn’t change the reality of the truth. Misinterpreting, all of these areas will not stop the timetable of God who set it all into motion in Genesis with “let there be light”. We can be forced to stop preaching this message by the denominations, but that won’t stop the message from being preached. Unless you can take the stars from the sky, you will never remove the proclamation of the redemption of Christ.

End of Note

Mid-Heaven Sermons
They argue that there are countries out there that aren’t even aware of other societies, let alone the gospel of Jesus. But the truth is, it has already happened, it happened 2,000 years ago. 100 years after Jesus ascended into heaven the gospel had been preached to the whole world. Ther reason why that’s significant is because we know that, according to Scripture is in terms of dimension there are three heavens. This gospel is preached where? In the “mid-heaven”. The 2nd heaven right?

Why was it important that this angel is preaching the gospel in the midheaven? Why not the first heaven, or the third heaven? The reason why it’s not preached in the 3rd heaven is because his word is forever settled “heaven”. Do you realize the word you’re hearing preached, the things coming out of my mouth right now, it’s manifesting now, but this message was preached long before I ever came out of my mother’s womb.

Read Ephesians 3 there is not only a need for “you” to hear the gospel preached, but you’ve got to understand that principalities and powers have got to have it announced to them over and over and over again that Jesus “has” defeated them!! Verse 7.

7Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters

Why does he mention all those things that he made? Why does he mention the earth and the sea? Because out of both the earth and the sea came a beast, we covered that earlier. There are two specific beasts there, one was Rome, the other was Israel. In a prophetic sense, the one that rises out of the sea has to do with the wickedness of the world, the one that rises out of the land has to do with the carnal man. From the earth you came to the earth you’ll return.

2 Revelation Twenty One Part 2 on Mon Mar 04, 2013 12:57 pm

Revelation 14
8And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication

Babylon = Israel
Babylon, who is Babylon? Do you think he’s talking about some Old Testament City? No because that Babylon had fallen centuries before. So who is he talking about? He’s talking about Jerusalem, he’s calling them Babylon. In the ninth chapter he called them Sodom and Egypt. The great city, he called them Sodom and Egypt. There are several passages of Scripture, in 1 Peter 5:13 about how there’s a reference to Jerusalem being Babylon,

13The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. KJV
13The church in exile here with me--but not for a moment forgotten by God--wants to be remembered to you. Mark, who is like a son to me, says hello MESSAGE

Heart of a True Husband
So why would God call Jerusalem Babylon? Because she had become an adulterer. The religious system had become and adulterer and it embraced anything and everything. There was all kinds of idolatry. It was true of the nation of Israel, it was the reason why Jeremiah 3 says that God divorced her. Most people don’t know that, that God did divorce her. “But God hates divorce, he said that in Malachi 4. Yes, it’s true, God does hate it, but he didn’t say he wouldn’t do it. He hates seeing people go to hell, but he still lets it happen because it’s their choice, not his. Hate it? Absolutely, but we take the decision out of his hands when we leave him first.

Yet just a few verses further down in that chapter, it’s clear that God’s heart is still with his bride. Even though she left him, he is still her husband and not one of law, but of love. He let her go because that’s what she wanted, but he didn’t stop loving her. It was the same when Israel first wanted a king. They wanted to be like all the other nations that God specifically told them to separate themselves from. Even though it was rebellion to even demand a king, God still let them have one. We want to think that God, when things get out of control, will force his will, but because he “is” our Father, he lets us find out for ourselves why he didn’t want us to serve the gods of our neighbors.

But if she’s a harlot, then who’s the virgin here? The harlot is the religious bride, the virgin is the redeemed bride through Christ. We are the virgin. So many churches are quick to jump on this bandwagon. Everybody identifies themselves as a bride of Jesus, while at the same time, depend on traditions and laws to maintain their identity. If you serve Christ, you are FREE from law. If you serve the law, you are actually an adulterer with Christ

Malachi 4
8And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. 9And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
14Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: 14"Come back, wandering children!" GOD's Decree. "I, yes I, am your true husband. I'll pick you out one by one-- This one from the city, these two from the country-- and bring you to Zion

That’s not an anti-Semitic term, if you are a natural Jew, you still have to come through Christ. “in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, bond or free.” This is not about an exclusive ethnic group at all.

8And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication

Something you Probably Didn’t Know About Babylon’s Tower
Babylon, there’s so much that we can say about Babylon, you’ve heard this before. Babylon which has it’s origin from the tower “of” Babel where men tried to build their own kingdom. Where men tried to build a name for themselves as Genesis 11 says, they tried to build something that will reach unto the heavens. Look up the word and you’ll find the name not only means confusion, but this word “tower” has to do with a pulpit. The landscape today is dotted with towers of Babel.

Where men build kingdoms in their own name and they call it “Church”. A lot of the places in this city as well as a majority of all the cities, and I’m not trying to be cruel or critical, but there are many buildings built by natural minds that have steeples that reach high into the sky, they point unto a God that they haven’t seen or heard from in hundreds of years. And just because they have a cross on they’re building, they think that they’re in touch with the Christ of the cross.

Revelating Mary and Joseph
If Mary and Joseph can travel three days and not even notice that Jesus was missing from them when he was 12 years old and they had to return to Jerusalem to find him. Look at those numbers, they didn’t go one or two days, but three, the divine unified Christ of resurrection glory and it wasn’t until they turned back to Jerusalem, to the root of the heart of God, to the origin of their ancestry, to their first love, to their beginning where they received a “breath breathed by God to give life”. There is where they found the Messiah. It isn’t coincidence that he was 12, that also is a pattern of God’s government.

Already, at this young age in a boy’s life, God gave the church of the day a prophetic picture of what was to come. An old government was being introduced to it’s replacement and they were confounded by him. They “should” have recognized him as a fulfilled promise from the very Scriptures they spent their entire lives teaching and enforcing on others, but they were caught up in his knowledge that they missed his truth. The fact that a small boy could show them things they never put together before easily distracted them, they were amazed with the natural, they missed the supernatural.

There in lies the truth of our own hearts and minds today in the church. Do we not also get caught up in the outward appearance of his presence that we miss his purpose for appearing to us in the first place? We become so focused on whether or not we can repeat a manifestation from one service to the next, we overlook the internal change that he’s trying to instill in us? This is not to condemn or point fingers, it’s just to simply raise the awareness of why God does what he does and keep the perspectives in their proper places.

Modern Day Babylonic Towers
Babylon. Again, the landscapes are littered with towers and doctrines where men are building things to their own name. Where people gather to personalities rather than to the person of Jesus Christ. Where people gather to the talent and the programs. Perhaps that’s why big churches get bigger and small churches remain small. It’s the accommodating church that caters to people’s wants that keeps them coming for more. It’s not a bad thing to have a great orchestra and choir in your church, but often times, it becomes the focal point of most churches. We all have to have the cutting edge of technology in our sound systems and presentations in order to be successful in Christ.

It’s not that we have a great worship service or that the sermons are relevant to our everyday life situations, but we should come because Jesus is here, period. Babel is the confusion of tongues and you better believe that’s indicative of today’s church. If you want to see the confusion of tongues, and I’m not talking about something Pentecostal in nature, but the confusion of tongues; you may come to church on Sunday morning and everybody may be speaking English but they’re speaking a different language.

Babylon Has Fallen
If A.D. 70 marks the destruction of Jerusalem and we’ve been reading it in context through out all of this, then Babylon fell didn’t it.

8And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand

Who is the beast and the image of the beast again? In the historical setting this was Rome and Israel, the Roman government set up Cezars and they were called God, and the Jews called them god and forced their brothers and sisters to do the same or die. We’ve established all that right?

10The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Patterns of Fire Judgment
Remember when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah? How did he destroy it? With fire and brimstone. We’ve already talked about how it was fulfilled historically that Jerusalem burned with fire, it burned for over a year. We looked at Joel 2 and compared what he said there to what it says here in Revelation as well as other parallel passages as it showed you the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple itself that it was set on fire and the smoke of it billowed up in the air for over a year and the blood and bodies of Jewish people, because they were under the occupation of the Roman government, their bodies were stacked up in the streets.

Prophetical Picture
It was a judgement that they brought on themselves because they wouldn’t accept the sovereign Lord Jesus Christ. That’s the historical picture, the prophetical picture is just as true for us as well, that Babylon is fallen. The religious systems of men are falling everywhere. Mark my word and try me if you want to, try the spirits and see if they be of God. We’re in a day in a season right now and I speak to you prophetically, that the systems of men, the Babylonian systems of men are unraveling even as I speak.

Denominational systems, the divided number of the nations which was never God’s. And I’m not just saying that now because I’m out of one, I have never believed that it was God’s will and his purpose. God didn’t want us divided among the number of the nations. God wanted us to be a holy nation, a Royal priesthood, one people!! But those systems are unraveling and falling apart even as I speak and they’re scrambling and scurrying around doing everything they can to hold it together in order to retain the image in their mind of what a church should be and the memory of what it once was in their generation. But they can’t hold it together any longer because Babylon is fallen.

11And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name

Spiritual Restlessness For the Unspiritual
Isn’t it interesting there it talks about those that worship the beast that they have no rest day and night. This sounds a lot like the creatures around the throne in chapter 4, they to didn’t rest day or night as they worship God around the throne, but the activity is different. Here it’s torment, there it’s worship. He’s contrasting the two.

What are we talking about when we mention the beast worshiper? Prophetically speaking, we’ve already looked at the historical aspect, prophetically, this whole thing has to do with a Babylonian system that never lets man rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ. But he is always working to approve himself and to be affirmed by God and others. He can never rest, he’s never good enough. He can never do enough. “We’re always doing, doing, doing, to be approved by God.” That’s the beast message, that’s the image that’s marked the minds of man.

Editor’s Note
2nd Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

This has always been taught that I need to study to prove to God I’m worthy to be his son or something to that affect . .right? Think about that message of what that means. Show yourself approved. Prove to God, what? If I can only be saved by his grace and not by my works, why then would I need to work at “proving” myself? What if, that interpretation was wrong? What if Paul was telling Timothy that “when” you study the Word, you will realize you’re already approved by God? If you weren’t approved, he wouldn’t have sent his son to save you in the first place. You will “find” your self approved. A workman that doesn’t need to be ashamed who divides rightly, that’s to say he understands the difference between a word of law and a word of life.
End of Note

These Prophecies Aren’t About The Ungodly, But the Religious!
It’s not something that’s out there in the world system, but it’s in the church system, they never can rest. Instead of going to church and finding acceptance and hearing a message that causes them to rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ, instead they’re always hearing about some new demand and some discipline that they have to do. . .”You have to do this, you really ought to do that and you need to follow this order . . .Isn’t that right? . So much so that the church has a hardening of the arteries, it’s always “you ought to, you ought to, you ought to” they can’t rest day or night. Christians get beat up enough out in the world that they don’t need to come to church and get beat up by the pulpit as well

12Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus

The Faith
Whose faith is it? It’s the faith of Jesus. Most of the hyper-faith circles of today, teach people to have faith in their faith. They don’t have faith in the faith of Jesus, instead they have faith in their faith. We teach them to say “I believe, I believe, I believe” with their mouth, but the whole time their heart is saying “I doubt it, I doubt it, I doubt it”. Faith isn’t repeating the words, faith is a gift. “For you are saved by grace through FAITH and that not of YOURSELVES” It is a gift of God not works lest any man should boast (Eph. 2 8, 9) We put too much emphasis on our faith instead of faith “in his faith”.

Ephesians 2
7Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. 8Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It's God's gift from start to finish! 9We don't play the major role. If we did, we'd probably go around bragging that we'd done the whole thing! 10No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them KJV

What’s the Work?
The work he’s referring to in verse 10 is not natural works, but it’s the spiritual planting and watering of his seeds in others for their relationships with him to grow freely and deeper in his truths. Just as harvest is not dragging sinners to church, it’s being Christ to them, shining his light of love on them. Letting “his” spirit do the work of the convicting. It’s not a bunch of doctrinal rules that man has “united” themselves together and emphasize the following of those rules to be their identity. It’s coming into the realization that the finished work is just that, finished. I’m saved because of simple invitation of the one that finished all the works.

I alone am imperfect, but I become perfect by accepting the one who is perfect in all things, into my heart and life. As I live for him, he perfects me daily and I begin to transform my self-image into his image, the one that he created me in, in the first place. And it all goes back to the truth that I do what I do because I choose to please him. Not because someone made it a rule or law.

Gift of Faith
Isn’t interesting sometimes that you can line up a row of people to be prayed for and there is always at least one standing in the row that can quote reams of Scripture, do circles around everyone else for all the memorizing they’d done. They should be able to have enough faith to raise the dead, on the other end you have someone that has nothing, they don’t even know whether Jesus was shot or crucified. The educated one is struggling, trying to get something from God, but this other one, no sooner does he get in line when “BOOM” God touches him. This happens day in and day out in the church, but the truth is, faith is a gift.

I know what the Bible says about it . .faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God and I know I can grow in my faith. I know that there’s little faith and there’s much faith and there’s exceeding faith I understand the dimensions of faith. But see, we’ve made faith metaphysic. We’ve made faith a matter of the mind, we’ve made it your ability to tenaciously hold on to something and create it in your mind. If God doesn’t give to you, you’re sunk.

13And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them

Wonderful Church-going Dead People
Every one of us have heard this or have used it in funerals haven’t we? “Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord . . . “ I’m not saying that this is an inappropriate way to read it, but I also don’t believe it’s about your physical death either. “Blessed” Blessed means to be happy. You know why Christians are some of the most unhappy people in the world? Sometimes you ought to stand where I stand up here on Sunday mornings. My wife (his not mine) went into a place just recently while we were away on vacation and we just popped into this place and we just wanted to look around and as we did, I noticed all the people were just laughing and smiling and having a great life, my first thought was these people are happier than most Christians I know.

When many come through the doors to go to church they often times look like death warmed over and many of those times, they go home the same way. It’s like they’ve already died but their body hasn’t been told yet. See, I got your attention now. If I get silly I can appeal to your base carnal nature and get your attention back. Do something crazy or say something funny and I get your attention back, but when I preach on dimensional things or go into Revelation, the automatic yawning begins to manifest all over again.

Absent From Death, but Still Dead
What God’s wanting you to understand is he wants you to be happy, to be blessed. The beatitudes, the what? The attitudes I ought be in . . .”Blessed is he, blessed is he, or “happy is he” The reason why the church struggles with being happy is because they haven’t found the truth in their own lives according to this passage of Scripture. You died in the Lord. I’ll be 45 this year, but I died 2.000 years ago in Christ. That will be argued by some saying “you weren’t there 2,000 years ago”, neither was Paul in Galatians 2:20 when he said “I am crucified with Christ”. He wasn’t there either, yet he said “I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live yet it is not I that live but Christ in me and the life that I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God.

Because My Father Died, I Died “in” My Father Also
If my great grand-dad would have died, I wouldn’t be here today, I would have died “in him”. Jesus died and I died in him therefore I can rest from all my labors. I don’t know about you but this sets me free. Because religion taught me all my life that I had to “do”. Religion taught me all my life that I had to do more and after I’d done more I had to do some more in order to be accepted, there’s never enough and it kept me frustrated all that time. And I lived from one Sunday to the next thinking that I was going to die and go to hell. As a little kid I grew up with that.

From one Sunday to the next the message would be on either hell, the rapture or Tribulation all the time to keep me so full of fear that I’d stay in the kingdom of God. But when I realized I died in him, I then became able to rest from all my labors. I’m not “trying” anymore, I’m just letting him live in me. I’m not living “for” Jesus, I’m letting him live “in” me. I can’t live “for” Jesus, I’m not Jesus. And it sets me free from all your critical speculating looks. That’s why I can be free at the pulpit, because I can be free at home.

14And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. 15And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

Notice that you see him sitting on a cloud. Does that mean that Jesus was literally sitting on some kind of puffy white cottony type of surreal atmosphere looking down on the earth? When it says he was seen sitting on the cloud, remember we covered this earlier, Hebrews 12 says we’re encompassed about by great cloud of witnesses. A cloud in Scripture is always a manifestation of the presence of God. There was a glory cloud in the old Testament that hung over the tabernacle which was a visual proclamation that the almighty Spirit of God himself was there in the presence of his chosen people. It was a cloud “in” the temple that became so thick when Solomon first dedicated the temple to God that they had to stop their ministry because they couldn’t see what they were doing because the Cloud of glory was that strong.

Jesus ascended into a cloud when he left for the last time in the natural state. Elijah saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand just before the monsoon rains came an put an end to the drought that had been going on for the past three years. This is all a symbol of his collective body. Jesus is on this cloud with a crown, again depicting his kingship over all the earth. Whenever God harvest then, as he does now, the sickle he’s using is to separate the wheat from the tares. The holy from the profane. He lets them grow together.

Hypocrites Sent By God
For all of you that are setting around and you use the excuse for not serving Jesus is because of all the hypocrites in the church. You use the oldest excuse in the world and you don’t understand that God put them in the church to aid your growth. Because whenever the disciples came to Jesus, the person that you like the least, the person you have such a disdain for, the one you know is putting on an act. They come in and dance and praise and then go out in the world and live like the devil all week long, God allowed them in your life to help you grow.

“Should we go out and tear out the tares?” The disciples asked when they learned the enemy had planted seeds of weeds among the wheat. Jesus said “no, let them grow together and in the harvest they’ll be separated.” You’re always busy blaming everybody else and your blame game is still just as lame as it’s always been and you haven’t grown a bit because of it. You’re just as quick to pass the blame somewhere else rather than take the mature road, admit the truth and grow from it.

Grass is Always Greener
So you convince yourself if you went to another church, you’d be rid of those people and when you do change, you find that it’s the same game, different names. Just when you think you get away from “them” you find “them” everywhere you turn. Wherever you go, there you are, isn’t that amazing!!!! God’s getting ready to separate some things here. The sickle is a sharp one, some of the things that are said may come across as sharp, but understand that the reason it’s sharp is because been sharpened, in preparation for harvest. The purpose is planned and prepared for ahead of time.

Thrusting the Sickle of Separation
He’s circumcising your flesh. Be thankful it “is” something sharp in the circumcision. In Joshua, the men circumcised were done so with a flinty stone. Sometimes what God uses to circumcise your flesh may not be a sharp sickle, instead it could be a dull or blunt tool used and you think it’s never going to get over with. But other times, what God uses is sharp and it’s cut from you before you even realize there was a circumcision coming to you in the first place.

You ever get into the car after a sermon and tell your spouse “I don’t know what it was he said today, but there’s something really bothering me. God is getting ready to separate here in verse 15 and those verses following. Historically, he’s getting ready to separate apostate Israel and he’s going to separate them from his remnant church. He’s thrusting in his sickle, he’s releasing his judgment on them. He’s separating the tares from the wheat. A counterfeit religious system from the true church, the remnant church. For now the time has come to reap, to harvest for the earth is ripe.

That not only happens historically, it not only happens around us, but it happens in us. Around us; the religious system is being separated from the remnant, the pure wheat. In us; there’s seasons that my life moves through and there’s certain things that have been sown in my life that are corruptible. But it always comes to maturity. Everything comes to a head, good and bad. When God starts his harvesting in my life, sometimes the things that I thought were pure had potential, were nothing but husks.

How many of us would like a nickel for every time when something was developing and maturing in my life and I thought this was really going to be something great, but when it finally came into it’s maturity I came to realize how meaningless it all was.

18And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe

God’s Fire Consumes
Who is this angel that had power over fire? Remember the prophet Elijah? He could call fire down from heaven, right? It’s a prophetic ministry. Moses had the same powers which is what you see on the mount of transfiguration. There is a ministry today that has the power to call fire down from heaven. I’m not talking about literal fire that rode a lightning bolt down and consumed the sacrifices in the Old Testament. I’m talking about a fire of the Word of God that will consume everything in you that is carnal.

People tend to avoid these types of churches. They would much rather go to a church that is likened to a greenhouse, where there’s kind of a fine mist that’s sprayed out every once and a while to ensure that your branches remain tender and green. This is not a green house, this is a fire house. “He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with FIRE. (Fi-yah)

I hope you get hot and uncomfortable in here and I hope it consumes all the wood hay and stubble in your life. I hope it burns up everything in you and the only thing left is the image of Jesus which should be illuminating in you, and illuminating from you. I hope the consuming presence of God comes so intense so red hot and the word of God falls in your life, not because I don’t like you but because I want to see the word of God manifested in you in all his glory, purpose and power.

Gather the cluster of the vines of the earth You need to read Isaiah 63 in correlation with that verse of Scripture because it talks about how he is going to take out of that cluster of grapes a remnant and the vine of the earth in the Old Testament always spoke of Israel. Israel was God’s vine in the earth, and he’s going to take out of that cluster a remnant seed.

19And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God

Isaiah 63

1Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 2Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? 3I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. 4For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. 5And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
Do you want to know what the wine press was? It was the cross. The wine press, Isaiah talks about how he had trodden the winepress alone. The wine speaks of the Holy Spirit of course, but it also speaks of his blood, it’s what we drink every communion Sunday in the cup, symbolizing his blood. The whole issue of the cross is judgment against Israel as well as all men’s rejection and acceptance of who he is, wrath to those who reject him, redemption for those that accept him, all in the same act.

Isa 63:3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people [there was] none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

It’s an offense, 1 Corinthians 2 talks about it being an offense to men, it’s foolish to men. Everything I’ve done here is foolishness to the natural mind. But I don’t want to talk to your mind. Talking to your mind is what got the church where it is on these issues in the first place. Man has convinced himself that this spiritual picture is to be interpreted with literal futuristic happenings. The only futuristic happenings that we’re to read into or out of, is the maturing of the spiritual bride of Christ. Yet any other concept is looked at as insubordination to the church. Isn’t it sad to see how affectively the enemy has blinded so many? Let there be Life!!

1 Cor. 2
12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ

Revelation 14
20And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs

What about Armageddon?
What are you going to do with Armageddon? The church has convinced itself that this is going to be an end-all battle as the entire world comes to take out Israel. All the maps and charts that men have made, use this passage, along with others, as evidence that it’s going to happen just the way they predict. First question here is, according to this verse, where does this event happen? Outside the city. Where was Jesus crucified? Same place, they took him outside the city.

Blood came out of the winepress even to the horses bridle to the space of six hundred furlongs. Again, this is what they use to measure the magnitude of the war to end all wars. The only problem with that is, when you go back and examine the Scriptures that even refer to this in the Old Testament, is that warfare that they’re trying to identify that with is done with horses, spears, shields and with swords. But the battle of Armageddon that we hear so much about now, and you’ll hear more about as soon as you turn on your favorite prophetical channel, has to do with nuclear warheads.

I don’t believe that’s really what it’s talking about, and by the way, If I took every human being on the planet and hung them by the heals, cut their throat and let their blood run out, there would be no way I would get six foot of blood flowing up to a horse’s bridle in an areas as big as what he’s referring to, 6 hundred furlongs. I’m sorry, that’s just ridiculous. So we’re not talking about a battle that’s going to be fought in the middle east.

What is the Truth of the Horse’s Bridle?
We’re not talking literally about blood as deep as a horse’s bridle that is 15 hands high. If the blood came out of a winepress, and the winepress was outside of the city of God. And the winepress according to what we just read in Isaiah was the blood that came from the cross of Jesus. That blood flowed to the horses bridle. The bible says in the book of Zechariah, that in that new kingdom that on the bridles of the horses would be inscribed as “Holy unto the Lord.”

Psa 20:7
Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

Isa 31:1
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because [they are] many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

If I want to understand what horses really means, I must understand that horses speak of men’s strength. “Some men trust in horses, some men trust in strength, but we will trust in the name of the Lord our God”. And when the readers of John’s generation, when they read of this about blood to the horse’s bridle, undoubtedly was the red sea, because they saw a red sea come up to the horse’s bridal and drown Pharoh and all of his army in the red Sea.

Armageddon was Calvary
You want to know what the battle of Armageddon is? It’s when Jesus died on the cross. All the battles of the ages converged on one man on one day on one cross and the battle of all battles was fought and won. The battle of Armageddon has already been fought. Concern of China’s growing power, events happening in the middle east, all that are simply things reflecting something that has already happened in Christ.

In AD 70 Israel was cut down and trampled into the winepress. Some may be upset that I just took Armageddon away from you. The battle has already been won. Collosians 2, Jesus isn’t going to fight anymore wars, he’s already fought all the wars he’s going to fight.`

Colossians 2
10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

For his yoke is easy and his burden is light, in spite of what they told you there’s no reason to fight. To all who are weary he has given his rest, we’re all raised in his righteousness . . .
