I have been experiencing some serious issues when trying to post lately. I am unable to format things like I've been able to in the past. I can paste but that's all it allows me to do. As soon as the text box is full, things go hay-wire after that. I can't scroll and highlight anymore . .. must be a demon!!! Anyway, here's the chapter in rough form. If anyone is interested in reading this in it's original format, I can email everything to you, it's much easier to read in a word document . . .but be warned, the total page count is over 900 pages. Smile

Revelation 12
1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

From Rags to Righteousness
We’ve just covered the beginning verses of Revelation 12 and discussed at length the woman seen here giving birth to a man child. And we’ve also discussed that this woman was clothed in the sun and what the implications of that is all about. Explaining that it meant that as Jesus was clothed in Matt. 17 in the sun, so is she. This is simply implying that there will be a bride that will have his same image as opposed to the image of man. Because we’ve also learned that Scripture states that we are nothing more than filthy rags.

The implication there goes further than just filth as in dirt, but the filth this is referring to would be the cloth a woman would use for her monthly cycle. Again, it’s an ugly picture, but it’s still a picture of the church being a woman. The filthy rags imply that there’s no reproduction in us. No seed of life, no fruit, no growth of any kind spiritually. But we the bride are clothed in the righteousness of Christ.

We saw the moon under her feet which shows that all the powers of darkness, because the moon is what rules the night, all the powers of darkness will be under our feet when we come into the fullness of Christ which is our goal. But as the sun sets, there are all kinds of creeping and crawling things that emerge. The simple picture of frogs in a pond are a picture of that as well. Frogs are a type of unclean spirits. And as it gets dark and the moon begins to rise, they crawl out of their mud and begin their croaking and calling out to one another.

The 12 Stars
So as has been prophesied and promised and as Paul writes, there will come a time when the church will be so clothed in Christ that all the powers of the night, the creepy crawlers, the powers of the night in our lives will be under our feet. For we see here, the moon is under her feet. And a crown upon her head that has 12 stars in it. We may get to that a little more, but we’ve talked about it some before in Genesis where we see Joseph having the same dream and it was speaking of his brothers, mother and father and they were all bowing down at his feet.

Of course he got into trouble for that vision due to the fact that there was pride that rose up and came against what was revealed to him even though it physically came to pass, it also established a foundation that we are now seeing come into play here. What he saw was a prophetic type of Jesus and about how that every kingdom of this world and every knee shall bow and tongue confess. It speaks of that and it also speaks that we, the church, have been made (past tense) kings and priests with him. The priest wore a miter on his head that said “holy unto the Lord.

Kings and Priests
Kings wear crowns don’t they. I want you to understand without provocation that Revelation 1, which we already dealt with and also the writings of Peter make it very clear to us that our positions as kings, He is king of kings and Lord of lords that he “hath” made us to be kings and priests. This is also the order of Melchezadek, kings and priests. The reason why it’s important we understand the order of Melchezadek priesthood that’s described in Hebrews is a priest can discern or can detect a need, but a priest doesn’t have the wherewithal or the means to meet that need. But a king on the other hand does. This is why he’s made us kings “and” priests.

So he’s crowning us with that understanding. These stars can also be compared to the stars that are seen in the right hand of the Lord that we also saw in the earlier chapters of Revelation. And also the wandering stars in the book of Jude. What are stars but illuminaries that have been set in the heavens. That have been set in their orbits to nomadic men traveling across deserts who have their terrain changes overnight.

They give guidance and direction to mariners as they travel across great bodies of water and they can look up into the heavens and the stars are set in their place and they give light and direction and understanding about which way is which. The navigation of the nomads who lived in tents, they didn’t have maps or signs on interstates to give them directions, they had to rely on stars. All they had to do was look into the heavens.

We discussed this earlier about the fact that John is seeing this entire Revelation from the perspective of Heaven. We see in Hebrews 12 “refuse him not who speaks from heaven.” There are a lot of people we hear that often involve themselves with teaching this book, but it’s all from an earthly perspective and point of view rather than a spiritual or heavenly one. There’s a huge difference.

25See to it that you obey God, the one who is speaking to you. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, how terrible our danger if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven!

In the Midst of the Smog
There are a lot of people that hear a lot of teaching from this book. But it is only from and earthly dimension they have not really heard a word from heaven. They see everything defined and explained according to what’s happening around them. It’s a horizontal perspective. Remember the story I mentioned about being in the city and not being able to notice something until I went to an airport and got into a plane that lifted me up above the city and in looking down it became clear the whole city was engulfed in a fog of it’s own. But when you’re in the thick of it all, you can’t see the smog until you do what John did and get into the spirit and see things from the perspective of heaven. Are you getting what I’m saying to you?

See, there are many of us that have trouble understanding what’s going on around us. There are things influencing us, confusing us, causing friction and trouble when we get to the place where we can search out the face of Christ in the Spirit, and once we lock on to him, that communication with him will automatically pick us up out of our physical situation and give us vision to see what the spiritual driving factor or influence that is really there causing all the chaos. Ephesians 6 tells you plainly that you’re not dealing with flesh and blood, but the flesh and blood is what distracts you from the reality of the situation.

So there’s always things that are infecting and influencing you that you’re never aware of and it’s because you’re always living in this dimension of the earth and you never allow yourself to get caught up in God and you don’t have to wait for a rapture to get caught up. When you get caught up in God you can then see the things you’ve been choking on and it’s been clouding your vision.

The Man Child
All of this that happened was a wonder in heaven. This woman is a representation of where God plans on leading his church into. And that she is giving birth to not just a child, but a man child. This is not just distinguishing the gender of the child, even though that is equally important, but I want you to see what is referred to here as it reflects historically the birth of Jesus because Revelation 12 is historically referring to the birth of Jesus. That he is the consummation of all the seed that we’ve talked about earlier.

The Birthing of a Mature Corporate Man
But it also speaks prophetically of the church of the earth giving birth to a mature man. To a corporate man, in 1 Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4 ‘Until we all grow into the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ until we come into a perfect man.” So that’s the labor that is going on now in the church. There’s a groaning that is described in Romans 8, happening as a result of waiting for the manifestation of the Sons of God.

Daniel Sees Leading Nations
We also dealt with in verse three another wonder he saw in heaven, a great red dragon having 7 heads and 10 horns and 7 crowns upon his head. All these symbols are found in the book of Daniel with all the empires that God allowed to come in and bring judgment on his people. The Babylonians, the Medo-Persians, the Syrians, the Greek, the Roman empires as well as others in the history of Israel that came in and ruled over them. This beast that Daniel saw is very similar of what we’re seeing here in Revelation. The horns speak of man’s power and the crowns speak of man’s false authority, or “unauthorized” authority. This brings us up to about where we left off to verse 4 which is where we want to pick up now.

Revelation 12
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born

Pattern of Murdering the ManChild
There is an obvious pattern that we see unfolding with this as we’ve mentioned often throughout the Bible whenever God is getting ready to birth something, or bring to birth his seed or purpose, that the dragon positions himself to destroy the seed of God. This is what we saw with Moses when he was born. All the little male children, notice, not female, but the “male-child” only were being slaughtered in an attempt, this spirit that influenced Pharoh. This dragon spirit that wanted to destroy the seed of God.

Herodic Spirits are Troubled
It happens again around 2,000 years later. It seems to come in 2,000 year increments. But when Jesus was born and he’s about two years old and his parents are warned about the intent of Herod who also has all the male children that are two years old or younger to be slaughtered. Herod is the embodiment or personification of a religious spirit. He was jealous. Anything that threatens this religious spirit, this can happen even now to the church today. Herod was troubled the Scripture says.

The reason why he was troubled is because he knew there had been a king that had been born and eventually that king would mature and become a king and over take his throne. You better believe there will be Herod spirits manifesting in you and you’ll become troubled when you begin to realize that God has a man that he wants to sit on the throne of your heart.

A Third of the Stars, Fallen
But look at what he says concerning his tail and it drew a third part of the stars of heaven. This has been a passage of Scripture that has been studied and made reference to the fallen angels that have fallen with Satan and his rebellion against God which can be very true, but I don’t think it’s just referring to spirits running to and fro on the earth possessing and oppressing people. But in Isaiah, the tail of the dragon is referring to a false prophets.

Isa 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he [is] the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he [is] the tail.

The Purpose of a tail
When you watch most any animal with a tail, do you notice what the tail is used the most for? In watching squirrels, it’s amazing how much they use their tails as an extra counter balance to keep them from falling off the limb. For birds, it’s much more obvious the tail is used for changing speed and more importantly, direction. To apply this to what John is seeing, the tail of the dragon is connected then, with spiritual balance. It was his tail, his warped use for balance that “drew” these stars from their stations. They were lured away from their posts with a perverted form of balance? This is the creation of a false prophet.

The thing about a false prophet is, they were once true prophets but they’ve used their gifting from God in a perverted way. Balaam was a true prophet, he heard God’s voice, but he also used it for his own gain. He was a prostitute. He took money, or physical things for a spiritual gift that had been given by God. Remember he is referred to in the same context in the book of Jude with wandering stars and clouds without water. Trees twice plucked up by the roots. Wandering stars are ministering gifts that could have been used by God but they didn’t stay in God’s order of things.

Divisions of Three
Just a third part of them were thrown to the earth, which means there are two thirds left, right? Well understand with me as well this division of things by thirds. The first born son in Scripture always received two thirds of the inheritance. The last born son only received a third. Jesus was the first born of many brethren. Also we’re going to see here in just a minute where it talks about the dragon, the accuser of the brethren, that we need to understand there’s only one witness against his two.

and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born

Another “Man-Child About to Be Born?
We already mentioned the first two situations where we saw this happen. One with the birth of Moses, another with the birth of Jesus. But now here we are 2,000 years after Jesus because it comes in 2,000 year increments right? And now here we are and there’s another man in the earth about to be birthed, a deliverer. A man-child, you hear what I’m saying? This is why the dragon has positioned himself and opened his mouth and released a flood of vain imaginations. A flood of words. We’ll come back to this in just a minute.

It’s Already Happened . . .Remember That
Remember I told you that not only in relationship corporately, but if we don’t understand these things individually, know that this old serpent in verse 9, the devil, Satan, which deceiveth the whole world that we see here, this is not something we’re still waiting to see happen. It’s already happened. Now, to most, this will come as a bit of a shock because unlike you who’ve been in this study from the beginning and have heard my sermons that are loosely connected to this topic, most have not imagined that the majority of the book of Revelation is past history. Remember again, John had to “turn” in order to see these things. He had to look “behind” him.

If the opening verses of Revelation 12 have to do, historically speaking, with a virgin who is with child. As Isaiah 7:14 prophesied, and just as with Moses and Jesus, there was a dragon in position, which in Jesus case was Herod, then we’re looking at things that have already happened and not so much what “will” happen. What really ought to excite us is this is all about a finished work.

Isaiah 9
10GOD spoke again to Ahaz. This time he said, 11"Ask for a sign from your GOD. Ask anything. Be extravagant. Ask for the moon!"12But Ahaz said, "I'd never do that. I'd never make demands like that on GOD!"13So Isaiah told him, "Then listen to this, government of David! It's bad enough that you make people tired with your pious, timid hypocrisies, but now you're making God tired. 14So the Master is going to give you a sign anyway. Watch for this: A girl who is presently a virgin will get pregnant. She'll bear a son and name him Immanuel (God-With-Us). 15By the time the child is twelve years old, able to make moral decisions, 16the threat of war will be over. Relax, those two kings that have you so worried will be out of the picture. 17But also be warned: GOD will bring on you and your people and your government a judgment worse than anything since the time the kingdom split, when Ephraim left Judah. The king of Assyria is coming!"18That's when GOD will whistle for the flies at the headwaters of Egypt's Nile, and whistle for the bees in the land of Assyria. 19They'll come and infest every nook and cranny of this country. There'll be no getting away from them. 20And that's when the Master will take the razor rented from across the Euphrates--the king of Assyria no less!-and shave the hair off your heads and genitals, leaving you shamed, exposed, and denuded. He'll shave off your beards while he's at it.
21It will be a time when survivors will count themselves lucky to have a cow and a couple of sheep. 22At least they'll have plenty of milk! Whoever's left in the land will learn to make do with the simplest foods--curds, say, and honey.23But that's not the end of it. This country that used to be covered with fine vineyards--thousands of them, worth millions!-will revert to a weed patch. 24Weeds and thorn bushes everywhere! Good for nothing except, perhaps, hunting rabbits. 25Cattle and sheep will forage as best they can in the fields of weeds--but there won't be a trace of all those fertile and well-tended gardens and fields.

Doctrines of Devils
You’re waiting on things to come to pass that have already passed. God has finished the work. “It is finished”. I know it’s hard sometimes for us to repent in order to see things in that manner but that’s just the way it is. I don’t care what you’ve been taught. We’ve been taught doctrines of devils. Did you know devils have doctrines? Scripture show Paul warned Timothy, he said there would come a time when men would give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.

The Seed of the Serpent
In Genesis we’re told the seed of the woman will crush the head of the seed of the serpent. When this played out, it’s clear to see that the seed of the woman was speaking of Jesus. But who was the seed of the serpent referring to? When you read in the Gospels of the events that transpired leading up to the crucifixion of Christ, it won’t take you very long at all to understand that the ones that not only set the stage, but also forced into action their plan to have Jesus murdered, they were the religious leaders of the church.

We’ve elevated the church to such a level that, even though we may not be as blatant about it’s infability as other churches might, we do have the mind-set that church attenders have an advantage on life that non-church attenders have. Our perspectives become distorted. In the end, we adopt doctrines and philosophies that emphasize everything but Christ. It’s like the gospel of Jesus is an after thought.

Seed of the Serpent = Religious Church
The reality is, it was the church that was the seed of the serpent. This may offend some, but if we expect to walk in the spirit, then we need to understand that includes the discernment of the truth when it’s revealed as well. Is this to say church is bad? Of course not, but it’s not to say the church is automatically to be accepted as the authority on doctrine either. The more I see the true patterns of God in Scripture, the more I see how the church has accepted and propagated the false foundations that it prides itself in today. There are so many tv evangelists out there that are currently operating in false authority and they easily sway us as believers to accept their interpretation of what Scripture says, rather than letting Scripture interpret itself. The seed of the serpent did not reproduce itself in the pagans, it lays it’s eggs in the church and we need to be aware of that fact.

That really upsets people, but there are a lot of people in the church who’ve been deceived, who’ve not heard the pure prophetic word of God. This message isn’t coming from one man’s mouth, there are many who are proclaiming this same message today. But I’m just willing not to go along with the flow and go along with the mainstream preaching and fads. I’m here to tell you now that what we’re reading here in the Word of God isn’t taking hope from you, but it’s to increase the hope you have.

Growth of a Serpent
But this dragon starts out as a serpent in the garden and progresses or grows into the dragon by the time he gets to this timeframe in Revelation. It has a lot more power now. The truth is, the dragon indeed, has been defeated, but he’s still got a mouth.

6The Woman herself escaped to the desert to a place of safety prepared by God, all comforts provided her for one thousand two hundred and sixty days

That’s not a new set of numbers for us, we’ve already seen this in the 11 chapter. This is the 3 1/3 years and 42 months. Another connection with this number is that the children of Israel had 42 encampents, Elijah called for a famine over Israel that lasted 42 months, or 3 ½ years. There’s a church that is still in the wilderness and is wondering from one place to the next. It has yet to see what God has been trying to reveal concerning his finished work.

In fact all the things that happened to Israel have happened as examples to us upon whom the ends of the world have come. All their wanderings, from the Passover to the crossing of the red sea, and the wonderous wilderness travels through Zen, Shensure and Param, all those things reflect to us where we can also stay. We can stay in the wilderness 40 years, or we can go ahead and cross the Jordan beyond the veil because there is something beyond the Jordan. Joshua has invaded the land. Jesus has crossed the Jordan river, just as Joshua stepped in the same river.

Roll the River Back To Adam
But as the ark entered in the river, it caused the river to roll back all the way to Adam and it reversed the curse, remember Jordan means the decender. It didn’t divide the like the red sea, it rolled back and reversed the curse. And just because Joshua whose name means Jesus in Hebrew, entered the promised land, this doesn’t mean that all the land became his. This land was full of people that were not going to give up their land without a fight. Joshua had to “dispossess” those inhabitants, the Canaanites.

Hebrews 8
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

You Are “The Land”.
The land we’re talking about is not some reference to over in the “glory” land. And it’s not a piece of territory in the Middle East. The land being referred to here is you! You are the land that Joshua (Jesus) has invaded. You are the land that Joshua is seeking to dispossess certain Canaanite inhabitants. Are you following what I’m saying? He’s seeking to drive out all those Canaanites that are still in your flesh.

And what does Joshua do when he rounds up the last five Canaanite kings? He puts his foot on their head. Remember the reference of the head of the serpent being crushed? The church is to crush the heads of the Canaanite kings. The minds of the rebellious. Your carnal thinking, your nature, your humanistic point of opinion. Let them all be crushed under the power and authority of the glory of the Lord that’s been paid with a high price for you to exercise this power in your own lives.

The reason Joshua did what he did was because it’s a picture of the prophecy of God that Jesus would crush the head of the serpent with his foot. As we become Christ because he’s in us, renewing us, transforming us, we to can crush the head, the mindset, of the enemy in each and every one of our bodies. When God gets all that stuff driven out, he then starts allocating all the land to the people, helping them find their inheritance in him. Joshua does the same thing. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness there of.

Fleeing the Wilderness

But the woman fled in the wilderness. We already stated the woman is the church. Israel was the church in the wilderness, then we look at the whole experience Joseph and Mary dealt with when Jesus was born and Herod attempted to have him killed, what did they do? They moved down into Egypt, the same Egypt that Moses spent a third of his life being brought up in the teaching and doctrines of the Egyptian mindsets which he then later turned around and led the people out of that same bondage. The act of Joseph and Mary fleeing to Egypt was also to fulfill prophecy speaking of the messiah for “out of Egypt he would come.”

Psa 68:31 Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God
Psa 80:8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

The third example of this is you have to go into your own wilderness as well. When you’re there, do you know what you feed on? Scripture says it’s in your wilderness that you’ll be fed on the 3 ½ years, which was the ministry of Jesus. That’s what brings you out of the wilderness. We looked at this earlier with the two witnesses, which is how you can see this all fits. It’s about Jesus and him alone, crucified, buried and resurrected. The picture of people going “down” into Egypt speaks of the death and burial, then each case, you see they return back to Israel, they rise up from the grave of Egypt into a new life. You are what you eat right? We all have our personal wildernesses. God has got to get everything wild in us out.

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels

Michael Fighting the Dragon
This passage is one that has also always been misunderstood and mistaught. Everybody has always thought this is a picture of Michael showing back up on the earth and warring against the devil and I’m telling you this has already happened as well. Do you know where in Scripture this has happened? Where else in Scripture do we see Michael appear and fight against the devil’s angels? How about Daniel?

The Dragon Fell at the Cross
What we’re reading here is the same thing that we read about in Daniel. The war in heaven took place when Jesus showed up and his ministry began to manifest. Remember Jesus even said, “I beheld Satan fell from heaven like lightning. He wasn’t talking about something that hasn’t happened yet or even that he had seen at one time, he was talking about something he just saw. I love that little thing we see on infomercials with the catch-phrase “help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” Well, it’s the same with Satan. He hasn’t fallen over and over and over, he’s fallen one time, and he still can’t get up.

Because the next verse here in revelation states that there was no place found any more for him in heaven. Right? This war he’s describing in verse 7 is what he went through in his ministry and how he was on the cross, The battle Jesus spoke about is what happened when his heavenly foot crushed Satan’s demonic head.

Colossians 2
14He canceled the record that contained the charges against us. He took it and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ's cross. 15In this way, God disarmed the evil rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross of Christ.

It Is Finished
Some of you are waiting on this to happen in the future when the truth of the reality is it’s already happened in your past. “If it’s already happened, then what’s wrong with “me”. I told you the dragon has been defeated but he still has a mouth. You’re listening to all the wrong voices. Really a lot of what you struggle with is not things from with out you, but things from within you. What you’re dealing with is not stuff that’s being said to you but it’s your memory is filled with a bunch of junk from over the years. “It is finished!”

Roman Army Usage of That Phrase
When Jesus said that there were two things it applied to. One was when the priest would fulfill all those requirements on the day of atonement, he would cry “it is finished” to announce to those in the outer court that he had satisfied all the sacrificial requirements. But it was also applied to the Roman general army. When a general would ride to the top of a hill because the troops were unable to see whether they were making any head-way due to the fighting and defending that happens in battle war-fronts. And he looked down from the hill from a higher perspective and he could see when the battle was over and all that they needed to do was wipe up.

So he’d climb to the top of the hill and look down to encourage his troops because they may have been thinking they were about to be beaten because they couldn’t see where the battle was in it’s progress and he’d yell from the top of the hill “It is finished!” In context to this, we need to know that Jesus has ridden to the top of the hill and he wants to announce to you the dragon has been defeated. The war that was in heaven is finished and he’s been thrown down because there is no place for him anymore.

All authority has been given to Jesus in heaven and in earth. Some of us are waiting for Jesus to come into his full authority when he returns to earth riding on the clouds of glory. But you haven’t read your Bible! Ephesians 1 says “all” authority, not some or most, but all authority has been given to Jesus in heaven and earth. And going with that, all things, not some or many, but “all” things have been put under his feet. Principalities and powers and dominions, all of them are put down and every knee . . .this isn’t something that’s going to happen in a millennial kingdom that has already happened. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess to the glory of God the Father.

So the dragon has been defeated, he “has” been. It’s just that you hadn’t heard the voice from heaven speak It is finished. You hadn’t heard it yet because you don’t believe in the finished work of Christ. But this isn’t to say that it’s not finished! It’s just saying your carnality has deafened your spiritual hearing and disabled your ability to hear the voice of the Lord. By grace, the voice is still there and God is still knocking on the door of many people’s hearts, but they’ve got to come to a place where they can hear the knocking.

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven

When Jesus’ ministry had come to a close and it was time for him to be arrested, he told the disciples ahead of time and he stated that “Satan cometh, but he has no place in me”. It’s a powerful statement. What Jesus said of himself, will eventually be said of this church, his bride. How many of us realize, that in most churches there is more said about the devil than there is about Jesus. Services open with a proclamation “we’re going to bind the devil tonight.” When the truth of the matter is, he’s already bound.

Keep Focused On Who’s Important
We start talking about giving and we begin preaching that as soon as you start giving, we turn our focus on the enemy and state that the attacks will come as you become more active in your relationship with God because Satan doesn’t like to see you there or Satan doesn’t like this or that. Rather than focusing on the truth of Jesus and the liberty he brings through his endless grace and mercy.

From Foothold to Stronghold
Ephesians 4:27 tells us to not give place to the devil. There’s no place for him in heaven because the word of God is forever established in heaven. “Thy kingdom come, they will be done on earth as it is in heaven There’s no place for him in heaven. So if he gets place, he gets it in the earth, which is in you and me. The way he gets in is when we start listening to accusing voices and we start entertaining vain imaginations and he gets a foothold. After he gets a foothold, he increases his grip with a stronghold. Once he establishes a stronghold, he then gets a whole city.

Talk About It, It Happens
That’s the reason why most preachers don’t understand why Satan seems to monopolize their church when at the same time, they’re emphasizing his presence. It’s not that I’m trying to ignore his existence, but see, if we would preach so much the preeminence of Christ there’d be no place for the devil. There was a Pastor that was sharing about the fact that he had thirty-some kids get baptized and filled in the Holy Ghost and I told him, “Do you know why that happened?” When he asked why I said, “Because you spent the last several weeks speaking on the Holy Ghost, when you talk about him, he shows up.”

Tongue Trippin’
If I start talking about the covenant blessings of God, what is going to happen? They’re gong to start showing up. If I start talking about the devil all the time, guess what’s going to happen, he’s going to show up. Because he can not manifest, until you talk about him. The power of life and death is in the tongue. The reason why there’s so much demonic activity around is because we keep manifesting it through our mouths. He has no entrance or authority into the earth until you open your mouth and you talk about him.

In fact, most of the trouble many of us have in our own lives has nothing to do with the devil himself as much as it does with that little piece of meat between your teeth. James 3 says “How great a matter a little fire kindleth, the tongue is set on fire from hell!

“I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming and he hath nothing in me”

Jesus told them “I’m not going to talk to you anymore, the ruler of the world is coming and he can’t touch me. If he could do anything to me, he would try to trap me with my words.” The dragon was cast out, the old serpent. Satan has been continuing this from the beginning and he’s had some success in that he uses the Word to establish his doctrines through traps and camouflages and we swallow it as gospel.

Revelation 12
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Kingdom of God Isn’t Coming, It’s Already Here.
Everybody is waiting for verse 10 to happen in the millennium when the truth is, the kingdom of God came 2,000 years ago. The kingdom of God itself is obviously older than that, but it came into fulfillment through the body of Christ, the physical body, not the church body. Now it lives in the church body. When Pilate was addressing Jesus and being inspired by the spirit of the accuser himself, he questioned Jesus about his subjects claiming him as a king and Jesus response was, “My kingdom is not of this world”.

Jesus is not a soon coming king, he is king. He is a king that is coming, but he’s not a soon coming king. There’s a difference in even the linguistics of that truth. Many are still waiting on his coronation and he’s already king. You can’t make him king, he was born a king, the seed of David. The end of that verse referring to the accuser being cast down, that is speaking of the work of the cross.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death

Historically, this has to do with the Christians who were alive in Jerusalem when they were overrun as we’ve described in the siege of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 and God preserved the Christians and they literally scattered out into the wilderness and the Jewish fatalities were literally in the hundreds of thousands as the Romans came in and destroyed Israel as well as Jerusalem. Remember we’re talking about this in different dimensions.

The Three Dimensions
That which was is the historical understanding of what took place. That which is, is how we apply the spiritual concept to our lives today. And that which shall be is where the church has missed it in the sense that we’ve been taking “that which shall be” as a physical event rather than realizing it’s “that which shall be” is a spiritual 3rd dimension of Jesus Christ. The consistency here is, there’s always only one physical interpretation, and that is the historical event itself. The second dimension is a spiritual application for us today, the third dimension is in every passage, there is a picture of Jesus character, be it his redemption, death, resurrection, or his return.

Much of the encouragement he gives to us is the promise of his return. Life is important today, but it’s not our emphasis. Jesus said for us not to worry about what tomorrow may bring, because today has enough problems and experiences of it’s own. Our focus shouldn’t be on the tangible events of our life, but on him and our relationship with him. He is the groom and we are the bride, there will be a “coming together” of the groom and his bride.

So, as we read this passage, we need to understand what is being addressed. The Christians of John’s day were trembling in fear for their very lives. This revelation is dealing with that. It is historically documented that in the days of Jerusalem’s destruction, in 70 A.D., the Christians really were literally protected. They really did hide in the wilderness as we see here in this very chapter.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

What was the short time? It was the 3 ½ years described in earlier verses. In fact, let’s bring it up here. It states in verse 6 that after the manchild, which we now know as Christ, when he was born, it says the woman, which is Israel, the spiritual Israel, the church, she ran into the wilderness where a place was prepared for her by God. We’re immediately thinking of a geographical place. It wasn’t a place, it was a person. The 1260 days was the same length of Jesus ministry. 3 ½ years. Remember John the Baptist? He was a man crying out “in the wilderness” ‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord!’ Or, God is preparing a place for you in the blood of the lamb!!

When Was Satan Thrown to the Earth?
Here in verse 12 where it speaks of Satan has come down to earth, Jesus saw this happen. If you think about it, we want to preach it happened on the cross. But I think it could have happened even before that. When Jesus stepped into the Jordan to be baptized by John, Scripture says that the heavens opened. The heavens were closed up for over 400 years. They were closed up for some time, but now, it states they opened up and God came and proclaimed, he preached, and the Holy Spirit hovered over him in the form of a dove. But here’s the clue, immediately after this, Jesus walked out of the Jordan, and now, being equipped with the Holy Spirit, he was led into the wilderness to be tempted . . .by . .the . . .devil.

And when Jesus defeated him in three dimensions, those three temptations, Satan fell from heaven like lightning. And Jesus walked straight from the wilderness to the temple and he opens the Scripture and reads from Isaiah and he claims this Scripture today fulfilled in your ears. For the Lord has anointed me today, to preach the gospel to the poor, to set at liberty those who are captive, to open the eyes of the blind, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. What is the acceptable year of the Lord? It’s the year of Jubilee

Jesus could preach the year of Jubilee, because he “was” and “is” the year of Jubilee. Jubilee wasn’t just a time, it was a person as well. When you come out of your wilderness after feeding on Christ, you come out of your wilderness and the year of Jubilee will manifest in your life. And you’ll be set free from every form of bondage.

13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Persecution hasn’t ceased has it? Persecution really is the best thing that could happen to you in the world. A bit hard to grasp isn’t it? The Bible says you’re blessed when you’re persecuted, right? So why are we moaning about it? We don’t ask for it, it comes on it’s own. There is a saying that goes, “In order to inoculate man from the praise of man, God baptizes man in the criticism of man. The first thing we should think of when someone criticizes us is not to take offense toward their mannerism, but we should first ask, is there any truth to what they’re saying. God gives grace to the humble, right?

14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent

Where Eagles Gather Together
Believe it or not, eagles in Scripture are not referring to America. Israel is not running into a wilderness at the cost of American soldiers to protect her. This is what’s been taught from time to time. Actually, Eagles are mentioned in Scripture and the implications are just as interesting. For one, in most references to eagles, it is referring to speed.

2Sa 1:23 Saul and Jonathan [were] lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.

Jer 4:13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots [shall be] as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

Lam 4:19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.

I’m sure that this woman Revelation speaks of, will be carried swiftly to her destination of protection and nourishment, but I also think it’s much deeper than that. There is another passage in Matthew 24 and in Luke 17, both of these contexts are speaking about the coming of the Lord. Both of these passages have been misinterpreted to be connected to the Tribulation period. Both are actually referring to the end of a religious system and the beginning of a relationship system through the blood of Christ. But in these passages, the term “eagles” is used there as well.

Luke 17
22And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. 23And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them. 24For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. 25But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation. 26And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. 31In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. 32Remember Lot's wife. 33Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. 34I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
There is so much in that, I couldn’t just pull out one verse, however, the one verse is what I’m going to try to stay with. Where eagles gather together . .that’s where the one shall be left. Where the body is, where the carcass is, where the dead flesh is, that is where the “eagles”. I noticed some translations said “buzzards” in looking up the definition, it actually said that because eagles do not prey upon dead carcasses, the meaning here must be for buzzards.

But the truth is, eagles is what was intended because the carcass Jesus is referring to is not a physical carcass, but a spiritual one. The eagles will “feast” upon the death of . . .who’s this a revelation about? Jesus. Where are the ones that are not taken going to be left? They are the ones that have chosen to feast themselves upon the death of the lamb. The blood of the cross. Christ is the one that will draw all eagles unto him . . . One more passage of Scripture . . .

Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

Those that wait upon the Lord are the ones with eagle’s wings. Need we say more on this issue?

What’s he talking about here? What is this image of the eagle? Remember in Exodus 19 Scripture talks about the exodus of Israel from Egypt? God said “I carried you out of bondage on eagle’s wings. (Exodus 19:4) Israel there, is a church in the wilderness and God brought them out on eagle’s wings. God brings your deliverance of your bondage on eagle’s wings, you don’t get it any other way. You can’t work up your own deliverance. You can’t take the credit for your success because the only reason you are where you are is because God brought you here once you acknowledged his Son as your Savior and Lord.

Wrestling Carnality “From” Us, and Blessings “From” Him.
I’ll take this one step further because there still may be some where the Spirit of the Lord wants to wrestle the old man out of you yet. Just as you can’t claim any credit for your success, you aren’t to dump guilt and shame on yourself for your failures either. You are a child of God. To condemn yourself is to disrespect the power of God in you. Paul said himself that it’s not him that sins, but it’s the sin in him. This sounds like it doesn’t make any sense until you see the point that he was trying to make. Bottom line, the work is already done. It’s complete, it’s finished. Our job is to accept that work and pursue a relationship in Christ that is of rest and peace.

And also like Jacob, we want to “wrestle” our blessing from God when it’s like his Salvation, it’s first and foremost, a gift made available through the blood of Christ. Secondly, it’s “given” to us through faith on our part, grace on God’s. For us to wrestle with God for a reward will only leave us with a limp in our walk afterwards to remind us of this truth, yes, you’ll get your blessing, but you don’t need to wrestle for it, simply receive it from God and you’re walk will be a much more pleasant one.

But sometimes we get like Moses did and we see ourselves as the deliverer of God’s people and he tried to do it with one Egyptian soldier at a time and he had to hide him in the sand. The very ones he was passionately trying to befriend, were the ones that confronted him about what he’d done. It wouldn’t be until 40 years later that Moses was mature enough to be the leader God called him to be. But it wasn’t Moses who led them, it was God leading them through Moses. The strength that came to Moses, came on the wings of an eagle.

The things about the wings of an eagle, you never see him spend any energy flapping his wings. He simply spreads them out and lets the wind carry him where he wants to go. We aren’t to spend all of our energy flapping our own wings, our own efforts and agendas, but we’re to simply open our arms up to him, rest in his works, and let him carry us. That’s what that means when it says They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength (rest) they shall mount up with wings as eagles.) I used to always think the analogy was to mount up on the eagles themselves and ride them. But no, we’re to rest in the Lord and let the spirit carry us. We’re the ones with spiritual eagle’s wings.

The other thing about eagles and their flight patterns is the fact that they very seldom spend any time at ground level at all. They come to get their food, but as soon as they capture their prey, they immediately return to their elevation, carrying their meal with them. They “dwell” in high places. They don’t live among the other animals of the earth. They live above the snake line. They build their nests and have their eggs in places where the snakes and other cold-blooded things can’t get at them.

When the eagle gets ready to fly, he simply opens his massive wings and mounts up on the wind currents that lifts him from one place to another. He has the ability to flap his wings, but he doesn’t have the need. From ground level, when you see the eagles circling above you, it looks like they’re just going around in circles. But the truth is, with every spiral, every completed circle the eagle is being lofted higher and higher and higher.

It’s the same with us and our spiritual walk. We’re not really going to get completely and ultimately delivered from the stuff that were always bound by, simply by getting in every prayer line or having some famous evangelist lay hands on us. But instead we need to get a revelation of what I’ve been saying and come to that place where we simply just open up our wings of faith in Christ and let the wind of the Spirit lift us up to experience the loftiness of the rest of God’s Son!

Some of us don’t even know that we’re an eagle. Isaiah 40 is a passage of Scripture that the message of Isaiah seems to turn a corner as it opens up with these words, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people for her warfare is accomplished. Then it goes into the message of John the Baptist, a voice crying into the wilderness, make straight a highway! Then it ends up in chapter 40 about mounting up with wings as eagles. How do we do that? Easy, you don’t have to work things out, you simply accept the truth that it’s already done. Mount up with wings as eagles and we get caught away from the stuff that has kept us scratching around on the ground like chickens.

15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood

Waters Out of His Mouth
There’s a lot to be said about the waters that come out of his mouth. All through Scripture, back to Exodus the first thing that begins to happen is the river Nile that is worshiped by the Egyptians, whose flow is an indication there’s something out of alignment in that it doesn’t flow from north to south like all other rivers, but it flows from south to north. This is really true. And the Egyptians worshiped the Nile, they even cast there babies into it. This river that flows through the very heart of Egypt. Interesting, the word Nile doesn’t actually appear in Scripture. But it’s used as a definition for the word river.

God turns that river to blood through the instruction of Moses. The Israelites leave that and they come to another water source called the red sea. It stands between them and God’s purpose and God opens up that for them. They go through the wilderness and they come to the Jordan river after 40 years of wandering and the Bible says the river that flows out of the city of Adam that we’ve already talked about, this river was flowing out of it’s banks, again to suppress the advance of the nation.

Jordan means descender, connected to death. There’s an issue, there’s a flow that’s coming out of the mouth of the dragon that’s coming in many different forms that stands between us and God’s ultimate purpose. Can you see that? But thank God, as we see in the rest of the chapter, even though the dragon tried to send flood waters to drown out the woman, the earth, instead of taking the woman’s life, helped her and swallowed up the flood.

16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ

The Earth “Helped” the Woman
How do you suppose that happened? Time and time again, as I’ve just shown you in Scripture, the enemy tried to drown the children of God and time and time again, God miraculously delivered them. Remember the context. Remember to whom it’s originally written. These bondservants were in the middle of a flood of evil all around them. When the Romans came into the land, what does history say it was that protected them? They hid in the mountains, in the wilderness, the earth protected them. In the next chapter we’re going to see this dragon with more than just a wound. Until then, may we all be protected by the hand of God from the flood of accusation of the enemy.

Connect the Dots
That’s the historical point of view, the first dimension so to speak. You want to know what I think this is really a picture of? Because the flood is coming from the dragon’s mouth, you can connect his mouth with the flood right? A flood, what comes from your mouth in the form of a flood? Words! And because these words are coming from the dragon, which as we clearly see is Satan, that Scripture states is the “accuser of the brethren” then you can easily see that these things coming from the dragon are accusations, a flood of accusations!

And keeping in mind this is a revelation of Jesus Christ, ask yourself, at what point in Jesus ministry did he experience a flood of accusations? During his crucifixion! How did the earth “help” him? It was on the hill called Galgoltha, which mean’s “skull hill” because the hill was literally shaped like a man’s skull. On this hill, which is, the earth, literally, a cross that was made of “wood” which at one time was a seed that the earth had planted in it from which the seed grew to a sapling and the sapling to a tree which was then cut down and formed into a cross. The earth provided the cross.

The earth supported the cross when it was again, replanted back into the ground. The earth held it up above it’s surface as Jesus hung above it and brought salvation to the entire human race, including the accusers that brought the flood of accusations against him. The earth played a huge role in saving it’s inhabitants by simply being used by them. But how did the earth “swallow” up the flood? This is the best part.

1Cr 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Jesus “Swallowed” Up in a Tomb . . . “In” the Earth.
When was death “swallowed up” with Victory? How about when Jesus was literally swallowed up by the grave, not just any grave, but one with a huge stone to roll over it’s entrance. The earth swallowed up the flood of sin because Jesus became sin on the cross. The earth swallowed up the curse of sin, the flood of sin, but as the sin bearer was swallowed up by the earth, he was transformed with a body that would never decay and the earth gave birth to our Savior and Lord.

The flood that came from him, came from his mouth. He is the accuser of the brethren. But the earth and all it contains is the Lords. Sometimes we need to actually let the earth swallow up the flood and remind us . . .what is it that God sends after the rain? Floods come from rain. Floods come from run-off. There are two situations that cause floods. One is when the ground is too hard to absorb the rain and it quickly flows to the lowest part and the harder the ground, the higher the potential for flooding. The second way is when the ground becomes saturated with too much rain and there’s no place else for it to go. The ground can’t absorb the rain enough to contain it.

We’re Not Intended to Store Up Truth
How many times are we the same as both of these conditions? We become hardened in ourselves and God can’t soften us with the rain of his teachings. It just runs off us and into the ditches we find ourselves in more and more often. Or because we have not prepared ourselves or conditioned ourselves for the prosperity of the rain of God, we can absorb it for a little bit, but then it becomes too much for us to maintain. Do you know why that happens? Because Scripture says, out of your bellies shall flow rivers of living water. We are never expected to hoard the truth that comes to us through the Holy Spirit.

We are to allow the rains to run through us and onto each other. We are to exhort one another; lift up one another; allow the spirit to flow through us so that the body of Christ is strengthened as a whole. Satan loves to take the purity of God and try to find ways to drown us with the very things that God intended for us to flourish in. This is what happened with the laws of Moses. They were not to burden the people, but to exonerate them. But the religious allowed the enemy to flood them with so many laws that it became impossible for anyone to keep track of all of them, let alone follow them. But that didn’t stop them, they enforced every one they could on the very people they were called to feed. They turned a life of obedience into a life of slavery.

Evil Also Reproduces
But, the earth swallowed them up. Time has faded them so far into the distance, there’s no memory of their existence. But just as they are gone, they have planted seeds of their own. In Genesis it speaks of Eve’s seed crushing the head of the serpent’s seed. The enemy has descendants just as the Holy Spirit has descendants, just as Eve has descendants. We need to be aware of which is which and not get entangled with the wrong ones.

Who is the Seed of the Serpent?
Which leads to a question to close this out with . . . who is the seed of the serpent? If the seed of the woman is Jesus, who is the seed of the serpent? Satan? It can’t be, he’s the serpent. How do you find the seed of the serpent? Go find in Scripture where the seed of the woman crushed the head of the seed of the serpent and you will then learn who the seed of the serpent is. When did all this happen? On the cross. Who is the seed of the woman? Christ of course. Who wanted to kill him? The Roman leadership? No, they washed their hands from it because they found no fault in him. It was the Scribes, the Pharisees, the church “leaders”. The seed of the serpent is the religious church. Now, does this not put a whole different spin on the power of the church? Is it really supposed to be our goal to increase our congregations? Our denominations? Our followers of doctrine?
