Straight Forward Understanding to the sheep toward their Shepherd
What does this have to do with the bottomless pit and the demons coming out? “Whenever you will not hear the voice of the Holy Ghost, or correction from someone that God has stationed to rule over you and bears the accountability for your soul, Proverbs 6 says he lets loose the reproofs of life on you. He lets hell loose on you. Many think that all this stuff is for all the heathens that turn away from God and we miss the point that God is holding back demonic forces from us. Some people have a real problem with this because they’ve had John 10:10 pounded into them as it’s taken out of context.

10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Promise or Pattern
The thief comes to kill, steal and destroy right? And Christ has come that you might have life and more abundantly. We tend to focus on the promise, yet we ignore the pattern. We forget God is sovereign. And if you won’t listen to the nudging of his spirit, if you won’ pay any attention to the Holy Spirit or the dreams he gives you from time to time. All the life that Jesus has made available to you isn’t going to reach your heart because your head is too hard. If you won’t listen to the things he uses around you to try to urge you to yield to him and let him direct you, you know what he does? He lets demons loose on you. You don’t agree with that?

Severity of Mercy
Read 1 Corinthians where Paul is instructing the church of Corinth to remove the individual from their assembly that is committing openly the sexual sin of incest, sleeping with is Father’s wife, and turn his soul over to the devil so that he will be saved in the day of judgment. Sometimes God’s judgment is severe. Sometimes God’s “mercy” is severe. The most merciful thing a parent can do with their child is not to stroke their back and tell them they want to be their best friend, but instead, the most merciful thing you can do as a parent is bring correction even though it will bring a tear to your own eye as you have to endure the pain of discipline, it’s the most merciful thing you could show toward your child.

Some grow up all their lives in homes and they don’t even receive that and they go out into the world and God lets life literally beats hell out of them.

Prov. 6:23
23For these commands and this teaching are a lamp to light the way ahead of you. The correction of discipline is the way to life.

Proverbs 15:31

31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

The reproofs of life. How many of us have been beat up by life sometimes? That’s what God is doing with Israel. They wouldn’t listen to his prophets, they wouldn’t listen to all the things he was trying to say to them. After Jesus had cleared out the temple, after he’d swept it clean of the defiling things, they continued to reject him and so the abyss was opened and enemy forces were released due to the rebellion of the children of Israel. From the history books we learn by the writings of Josephus of the spiritual state of Jerusalem as well as it’s physical state. He writes that there is no other city in all the world that has the demon possession that is witnessed in Jerusalem.

Misguided Holiness
We’ve always been taught how holy Jerusalem is and how great it’d be to be there and come to within yards of the places where Jesus walked and see the tomb he walked out of. But the truth is, it’s one of the most war riddled cities in the entire world. There’s more demonic forces that hover over that city right now than in any other city in the world. We think just because the tomb of Jesus is there and just because Calvary’s there it’s a holy place. It “was” a holy place. It’s not anymore.

Paul states that to be a Jew has benefits, I believe this is still true in all dimensions of the meaning of it. In the physical dimension, I believe Israel has been blessed by God as a nation because he’s used Israel as a blueprint for all of humanity to learn from and follow. No other nation has been chosen to fill the role as Israel has. For that reason I would agree in that they are a blessed nation, but not because Jesus walked on the streets, but because Jesus used the streets as well as the people that walked them as spiritual pictures of how the whole world is to live.

Romans 3
1So what difference does it make who's a Jew and who isn't, who has been trained in God's ways and who hasn't? 2As it turns out, it makes a lot of difference--but not the difference so many have assumed. First, there's the matter of being put in charge of writing down and caring for God's revelation, these Holy Scriptures.
27So where does that leave our proud Jewish insider claims and counterclaims? Canceled? Yes, canceled. What we've learned is this: God does not respond to what we do; we respond to what God does. 28We've finally figured it out. Our lives get in step with God and all others by letting him set the pace, not by proudly or anxiously trying to run the parade. 29And where does that leave our proud Jewish claim of having a corner on God? Also canceled. God is the God of outsider non-Jews as well as insider Jews. 30How could it be otherwise since there is only one God? God sets right all who welcome his action and enter into it, both those who follow our religious system and those who have never heard of our religion. 31But by shifting our focus from what we do to what God does, don't we cancel out all our careful keeping of the rules and ways God commanded? Not at all. What happens, in fact, is that by putting that entire way of life in its proper place, we confirm it

Misguided Zeal
See, even today, we get caught up focusing on the wrong thing. There is a huge portion of the church that is caught up with putting all there attention on the physical Israel and the rebuilding of the temple. So much so that there are major organizations being built on this very subject. “Keep your eye on Israel, what they do gauges how close we are to the rapture.” The reason we’ve taught this so strongly is because we’ve been associating ourselves with a physical Israel, just as they were associating themselves with a physical Jew in Romans, when the truth is, we’re to see this with spiritual eyes, a spiritual Israel, a spiritual New Jerusalem, not a physical one.

And of course, in the spiritual dimension, to be a spiritual Jew is to be a follower of Christ. We are all spiritual Jews who’ve allowed ourselves to be circumcised from the sin in our own lives. We are still exposed to a sinful world and at times, we may find ourselves getting tripped up from time to time, but those times are not times to give up and quit, but to simply allow God to give us strength to get back up and continue on in our life with him, with no guilt or condemnation of our weaknesses.

It’s our rejection of him that brings the judgment, not our failures or weaknesses, he will work those areas out of us as well, but until then, we all are still vulnerable to mess up on occasion, but God still sees us as perfect through the blood of his Son. The religious hate to hear that because they enjoy enforcing the laws of their religion, but law isn’t always necessarily truth.

Romans 2
29You become a Jew by who you are. It's the mark of God on your heart, not of a knife on your skin, that makes a Jew. And recognition comes from God, not legalistic critics

Colossians 2:11

When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. It was a spiritual procedure--the cutting away of your sinful nature

Playing the prophetic Out in History
Josephus wrote, in his book “The Jewish War” he wrote “The people had lost all ability to reason. Frenzied mobs attacking one another. Multitudes chasing after the most transparently false prophets. Mass murderers, executions, suicides, Father’s slaughtering their own families. Mothers eating their own children, cannibalism. All of this was going on during the first century, primarily around the year 70 A.D. when all of Israel was being attacked and burned by the Romans.

The host of hell virtually swarmed across the land and consumed the apostates because they had turned their backs on God. Only the Christians were immune from the scorching inhalation at the hands of the Romans, but deeper, the Romans were under the influence of Satan at the release of control of being held back by God.

That’s Yesterday, How About Today?
That’s history, how does that apply to us? How many of us, once we can shake ourselves out of the fog of what we live in everyday. Once we’ve become accustomed to our surroundings and the evidence of the enemy everywhere we look, how many of us will admit, when we put into perspective our culture as to where we are now to where we were 5 years ago the desensitizing that we’ve gone through? The things we used to believe were terrible to even imagine, we now condone in the open. There has been a pit that has been opened here as well where those that have not received the prophets and the word of the prophets, have also not received a prophet’s reward.

So you better believe that the darkness is going to get increasingly . .Isaiah states that the darkness is going to be getting gross (Isaiah 60:2). How bazaar would it have been several years ago to hear that classmates are shooting other classmates with high-powered weapons in their schools. Or the secrets of the Priests of the church purposefully being covered up while the priests involved in the sin continue on as if it never happened. Or to see Pastors openly declare they can be and want to be gay and still consider themselves as holy in the sight of God. The idea of taking Bibles out of schools in the 60’s would have been cause for civil war! But now we’ve just become deadened to it.

Isaiah 60

1"Get out of bed, Jerusalem! Wake up. Put your face in the sunlight. GOD's bright glory has risen for you. 2The whole earth is wrapped in darkness, all people sunk in deep darkness, But GOD rises on you, his sunrise glory breaks over you.

Don’t Be Dismayed, Be Encouraged

Why is it happening? Because in the spirit, there are swarming demons that are loosed and out to eat everything in their path as a result of those that deliberately chose to deny Christ. The intent here is not to come off as an alarmist or be negative here because in the midst of all this, the Christians then, in the middle of all the unbelievable atrocities that were occurring when John wrote the book Christians were actually immune from all of it! Don’t get distraught over this, be encouraged! This is what Luke 10 meant when Jesus said he is giving us the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions.

Spiritual Scorpions
Is this to mean if we’re out in the desert and we accidentally step on a scorpion that we’ll not be harmed? If we camp on that idea, we’re going to miss a whole realm of power that’s been extended to us. That’s not what he’s talking about. He’s saying “I’ve given you the authority over these “spirits” that have the ability to sting you.” These serpents that have the ability to poison you and your family can’t break through the barrier of the blood of the Lamb. Just like in the days of Moses when the plagues came against Egypt, they had no effect on the Israelites . . .at all! They were TOTALLY protected from the unleashing of spiritual activity that God allowed to be released on Egypt. Not only did he allow it, but it was through his instructions that he led Moses to release them.

The Untouchables
Many of us walk in fear and anxiety over the treacherous circumstances out there that we actually pray for the physical rapture to take place so our children won’t be exposed to what’s out there. But we need to understand that the pattern of Scripture is not partial or half done. It is complete from yesterday, to today, to forever. And if those that were marked on their foreheads would not be touched, then you can bet your bottom dollar that if the Holy Spirit has his mark on your mind that you too will not be touched!

The thing that is going to glorify and exalt the name of Jesus our resurrected Lord and prove to the whole world that he was who he said he was, is the fact that we are going to be in the middle of our worst enemies as they march and parade their banners of disgust and perversion and march around us declaring they have the victory when the truth of the matter is the fact that we will be flourishing with God our Father in their midst. They can only throw around hollow words and their actions are nothing more than proof of their destiny with a power that is already defeated and they’re too blind to realize it. But we can simply rest in the work that’s already been done because we realize we’ve been chosen and saved not just from hell, but we’ve been saved “for” life! This is an area the traditional church has overlooked, we’re to understand clearly that rest has been given to us, in the middle of our struggles, there is rest.

There is power in peace and rest.
If you think about that, you’ll also see that little revelation is one of the most powerful tools you can have. If you have an enemy that comes charging at you, how you respond to that enemy is going to depict how your enemy reacts. If you show fear and look for an escape, this will only add strength to him because he sees you’re on the run and he’ll only add more pressure. If you scramble and try to come up with all the memory verses you’ve tried to accumulate, he’ll see right through that knowing what’s in your head can’t save you from him.

But if you ignore him, sit down, and take a deep breath of relaxation, this will totally have an opposite affect because the enemy thrives on fear and intimidation, but when he sees you’ve found your rest in Christ, that can’t be penetrated with fear or intimidation and that’s all the enemy has to work with. This is why it’s so important for the church to realize that all the programs in the world, all the rules in the book, all the laws they can come up with, is not what perfects the church. Only Jesus can perfect us, only he can win our battles for us, only he can overcome our adversary . . . all we have to do is rest in the work that’s already done. You want to “be” the image of God that you were created to be? Do what he’s doing . . .he’s sitting at the right hand of the Father, that is, he’s resting in the authority given to him by God because the enemy has already been defeated.

The Meaning of Five Months
The seal of God was on their forehead and they couldn’t be touched. The others were tormented for 5 months and they couldn’t die. Why 5 months? Well, to answer that, we need to go to Scripture and find where 5 months is mentioned. How many days are five months? 150. It was 150 from the time it started raining to the time Noah’s ark came to rest on mount Aarat. Which means the curse is reversed.

As Jesus said, as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man. While the rest of the world is out there drowning and being judged for their perversion because they wouldn’t hear the voice of Noah, we are sealed inside the protection of the ark. This ark we’re in isn’t one full of animals, but it’s one that is sealed within and without. As the rains of God’s judgment fall, we’re not going anywhere, we’re just going to rise above it. Jesus is the ark, those that receive them as their Savior are given a mark on their foreheads, their minds are renewed. Just like the symbol of 3 ½ days is connected with Jesus ministry, not a literal span of time, so it is with the 5 months. It’s symbolizing purging of the Egypt out of us, the corruption that was removed from the face of the earth with the flood, now comes through a purifying fire.

Joel chapter one talks about the locust, they come in stages. The canker worm, the palmer worm, the caterpillar the locust. They are all different stages of the same thing. As they come, they just devour everything. If you aren’t open to let the holy Spirit teach you, then you’ll have to learn the harder way, through the avenue of life’s experiences. Stuff I’ve learned by experience, I don’t go there anymore. That dog had bit me one time and I don’t go there anymore. But if you aren’t receptive to the Spirit, God has other ways of getting to you. He’ll unleash things into your life to destroy certain other things.

People argue that God doesn’t destroy anything. It’s against his nature. The people that claim this are the same that are not aware of what Isaiah and 1 Corinthians speak about God, he is “the” DESTROYER “

Isaiah 34:2
For the indignation of the LORD [is] upon all nations, and [his] fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.

In reading that chapter, it’s easy to see that God does bring judgment on those through avenues that we blame Satan for. Perhaps much of our trial and tribulation is coming from our own hearts where there needs to be a pounding out. When the angel wrestled with Jacob, the experience left Jacob with a limp for the rest of his life. When we try to resist God’s will in our lives, it can easily lead to a dislocated joint in our walk with him from that time on. A humble heart is a successful heart. A proud heart, will most likely become a broken one, one way or another.

Enemy Come By Accident?
Do we actually think God accidentally created Satan, not knowing ahead of time that Satan was going to turn out like he did? “Well, if God knew, then why did he go ahead and create him anyway?” God created a destroyer on purpose. Isaiah 10 speaks about God using enemy nations to bring judgment against his chosen nation. Then when they accomplished what he wanted them to, he turned around and judged them for their wickedness as well. God can do what he wants to do. Just because our limited minds don’t understand it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t right. No matter what you’ve been taught, God is right, in all things, whether you can agree with that or not.

Balance of the Faith
There has been such a shallow concept of God that has been sown through the minds of people through the faith concepts and I, with others, used to preach this same thing. This is not to be condemning to those that are still proclaiming the faith movement, because there are many great and wonderful righteous men of God that he’s raised up to speak the principles of faith. But unless even those that are of the faith movement are willing to be poured from that into the next will of God and have their message balanced, even what they had as truth can also become perversion.

I’m not asking God to keep me perfect in the way of truth all the time. Because I need to personally experience failure sometimes in order to see what real truth is. That’s where most of us live in this paranoia of being wrong. But God just works that way. He pours us from one vessel into another and then into another. The key is not to become stagnant in one vessel while he’s attempting to pour us out into another. It’s not about a fad, it’s about us progressively walking in the proceeding word of God.

Sincerely Wrong

Many of us have been brought up in churches where there are specific things that are taboo and if you do them, you are going to hell. I’m not talking about blatant sin that Scripture clearly lays out as sin that leads to death. I’m talking about carnal rules that godly men have interpreted to be of a sinful nature and if you partake in these things that are of the devil, it’s proof that the devil is in you. What things? Okay, things like, poker cards, smoking, swearing, chewing tobacco, gambling, short skirts, tight blouses, heavy make-up, women cutting their hair short, women wearing men’s clothing . .the list goes on and on and on. We were sincere in our attempt to enforce these rules, but we were sincerely wrong.

Jesus isn’t in me because I quit doing those things. Jesus “came” in me and “then” I quit doing those things. Some happened overnight while others took a bit more time to flesh out. And there may be some days where if you see me in a certain light, I may be limping in my walk because some things had to be wrestled from me. But the more I progressed in my relationship with God, the less I transgressed against his will in my life. It’s not me you see, it’s him working in me that changes how I think, feel, talk, walk . .on and on. By His grace I am saved, by his grace I’m released from the bondage of my weaknesses and sin. And by his Revelation of who he is, I am free from religion and the laws it promotes.

Begging to Remove the Thorn
So, they were permitted to torment men for five months. A literal scorpion can’t kill you, but it can make you wish you were dead. Looking at a scorpion’s tail reminds me of a whip. It was a whip that Jesus used to clear the temple. Often times we are crying out to the Lord to remove the trial when it’s his whip of discipline of love that was released upon us in the first place. Paul prayed on at least 3 specific occasions to remove a thorn from his side. Was it a physical thorn? Of course not, there was a spiritual assignment set against him and God wouldn’t remove it. His response to Paul was, and Paul accepted it willingly, “my grace is sufficient for you.”

Editor’s Note
I looked this passage up and was overwhelmed by what I read. I’ve read this passage over and over, quoted from it just as many times. Yet I never fully grasped what I see in those words of Paul now. It’s in 2 Corinthians 12.

1You've forced me to talk this way, and I do it against my better judgment. But now that we're at it, I may as well bring up the matter of visions and revelations that God gave me. 2For instance, I know a man who, fourteen years ago, was seized by Christ and swept in ecstasy to the heights of heaven. I really don't know if this took place in the body or out of it; only God knows. 3-4I also know that this man was hijacked into paradise--again, whether in or out of the body, I don't know; God knows. There he heard the unspeakable spoken, but was forbidden to tell what he heard. 5This is the man I want to talk about. But about myself, I'm not saying another word apart from the humiliations. 6If I had a mind to brag a little, I could probably do it without looking ridiculous, and I'd still be speaking plain truth all the way. But I'll spare you. I don't want anyone imagining me as anything other than the fool you'd encounter if you saw me on the street or heard me talk.

From this passage, we’ve gathered information to understand that Paul has been in this 3rd dimensional realm more than once. He has been given revelation by vision, dream and written word all three. We all have the written word to receive our dimensional understanding. That comes by way of understanding God’s patterns as revelation is something that you learn through understanding God’s patterns. But it’s also revealed to. We know it’s revealed, that’s where we get the word “revelation” from. But we’ve been taught that’s the primary way to receive revelation from God when it’s really more of an exception than the rule.

At any rate, Paul clearly experienced being their personally through a spiritual experience that included his mind in the form of vision or dream. But he’s leading up to this thorn in his side. He’s preparing a foundation for something that isn’t unique to the church today, but I’d bet it’s hardly ever realized. Paul’s thorn, it’s not an accident, nor is it a mistake. It’s something that Paul doesn’t like and continues to pray for it’s removal. But it never leaves. This is an awesome revelation in and of itself.

A “Particular” Unanswered Prayer
How many of us have things in our lives that we pray to God for him to remove them and every time we pray, we walk away feeling like God never hears us because the tormenting thing we prayed to be removed from us is still there. We apply every faith-based verse in Scripture against this thing and still, we get up the next morning only to find it’s still there.

Ever wonder “why” it’s still there? Not so much that it hasn’t left, but why is it there? Why “this” particular thorn? Why is it “this” particular subject that I keep having a problem with? Why is it always this particular person that seems to always know which button to push to get me to say stuff I shouldn’t say, or think things I shouldn’t think. I pray and pray and . .no change. Why God???

2 Corinthians 12
7Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! 8At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, 9and then he told me, My grace is enough; it's all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness. . .

Grounded Affliction is on Purpose
Could it be that this “thorn” that has been placed in your life is intended to keep you grounded in God? Man, that throws a monkey-wrench in your religious way of thinking doesn’t it? Why would God, who loves me, knows how many hairs I have on my head, is attentive even when a sparrow breathes it’s last breath, why would that God allow this kind of pain and torment to continue in me day after day? Grounded in Him? That’s nuts!!! No, that’s actually God. Not everything that happens to you is supposed to be good.
Expansion comes through resistance. Growth comes through experience, experience comes from mistakes, mistakes often bring pain. But . . .from death, comes life!

2 Corinthians 12
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness. 10Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size--abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become

That is the primary key. Our thorn is what keeps us grounded to reality. When we can rest in that understanding that it’s not because of my personality or my qualities that God chose me to do what I do, then I have come to a place where I rely on him to do his work through me. It’s not my confidence in myself that gets me to where I need to go. It’s my confidence in knowing that if it were left up to me, I would totally ruin what God wants to do through me. So, the confidence I have in myself should be the reality that there’s no way I can do this on my own. I do what I do the way that I do it because that’s the way God has chosen to get his work accomplished. In spite of my weakness . .no . .”because” of my weakness, his work in me is strong.

Picking up Where We Left Off . .
Getting the Saul out of David
There are people that are demonically influenced and they dog you and dog you. In response, you pray against them not realizing that it was God that sent them in the first place. Because he understands down in the deep bottomless pit of your soul, you’ve got of that stuff in you. Why did God let Saul beat up and threaten a poor little sweet singer of Israel like David. David’s physic was obviously not the type that could stand up to someone like Saul. Saul was a large man. David wasn’t. Yet it got so bad David had to literally run for his life to get away from Saul’s attempts at trying to kill him! Why? Because God allowed it to get rid of the Saul that was still in David. Most of us have a whole lot of Saul and maybe a little of David.

5 Months
5 months was the period from May to September when the locust would show up. The time the fields would begin to produce. It was also a period of time that Josephus speaks of in history that there was a huge increase on the persecution, above what was already there. The number 5 also goes back to the book of Exodus when the people came up out of the land harnessed. (That simply means they came up out of Israel in formation of a quadrant like an army, 5 abreast) Five is the number of grace as well. Often times, what our carnal understanding considers judgment, God considers it as grace.

Revelation 9
7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. 11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. 12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter

The Disarming Thing About the Demonic
Something odd about the locust. It states the shape of them are like horses with crowns and hair and so on. If these locust were common in the sense that God releases them in the spiritual realm, we just never see them in that sense. But the truth is, these locusts were common . .they were also one of the plagues of Egypt, so it’s not as though we’ve never heard of them before. Joel states the canker worm and things devouring them. These were the things that were eating away at their very systems as they were agricultural people. Many of us think everything we have is safe and secure. We’ve worked hard and long and we now have the proverbial financial security.

But God is a jealous God. There are men right now that once had millions and in a matter of a year’s time, they are now living barely on $300 a week. Some will even say “my security isn’t just superficial, I’m deep and wide spiritually. But watch the pattern of the locust. First they come and strip all the bark off. Next they’ll go for all the foliage, then they’ll eat the stalk to the ground and then, they’ll go for the root. So it doesn’t matter how deep you think you are.

You need to realize if you don’t get under the voice of God, for those of us who’ve been blessed by God and you don’t keep the stuff coming just because you’re a tither. God is tired of these people who think they can pull God’s purse strings because they’re a regular tither. “God-owes-me” mentality. God doesn’t owe you a thing. You’re not impressing anyone by how much you give. If God wanted to he could take it all from you tomorrow. You say God wouldn’t do that because he’s not a thief? You’re right he’s not. But what you have was never yours in the first place. You wouldn’t have what you got if God didn’t find it in his mercy to give it to you in the first place.

A Horse’s Strength
In other words, these things come in deception. Crowns of gold, horses are always compared with strength in Scripture. Psalm 20:7 and Isaiah 31:1 both point to this. Some trust in chariots, others trust in horses, but we will trust in the Lord our God. Man always puts his trust in his strengths. The number of chariots and horses indicates the amount of strength and power an army has. The crowns of gold with faces like men. There’s a deceptiveness here because we already know these things are unclean or ungodly spirits being loosed.

One Man’s Garbage, Another Man’s Treasure?
Hair like a woman, when you see a woman with long hair, for one, 1 Corinthians 11 speaks of long hair on a woman brings her glory whereas long hair on a man brings him shame. But long hair can be seen as an emblem of femininity. So these locusts are smothering, devouring, there’s no escape from them. They’re constantly advancing, yet they have faces like men and hair like women which means they have the appearance of not being so threatening until you get close to it then you see it has teeth like lions.

Zealots of History
Ever come across a spirit like that? History records the zealots. A zealot was a member of a sect of Jews which originated with Judas the Gaulonite ( Act 5:37). They refused to pay tribute to the Romans, on the ground that this was a violation of the principle that God was the only king of Israel. They rebelled against the Romans, but were soon scattered, and became a lawless band of mere brigands. They were afterwards called Sicarii, from their use of the sica, i.e., the Roman dagger.

Scripture Playing a Historic Role . . .Again
This political party during the days of when Revelation was written,” they ran and ransacked the wealthy, murdered the men, violated the women for sport. They shamelessly gave themselves up to effeminate practices.” This is quoted from the writings again of the historian of Josephus. Effeminate practices means they actually became what we call transgendered, or cross-dressers. It goes on, “plaiting their hair, putting on women’s clothes, drenching themselves in women’s perfume, putting on their make-up.

They not only copied the attire, but they also took on the passions of a woman. They entirely polluted the city of Jerusalem with their practices and even though they wore women’s faces, their hands were murderous. They would approach with mincing steps, then they’d suddenly they’d become fighting men, whipping out swords hidden under their clothing and run through their passer-by.”

This is the exact same description that we’ve seen in Revelation nine. Even in the explaining of the process of Revelation, we see a reoccurring pattern coinciding with the spiritual pattern God established from the beginning. It was all about the destruction of the old religious system, even the very roots, and the rebuilding of the spiritual structure that many churches are just now getting a true glimpse of. But what was happening in Jerusalem and all of Israel was civil war. And that’s the key here. Once Jesus was out of the picture, all the factions that had been pretentiously united to get rid of him, the Pharisees, Saducees, Zealots and Herodians were all Jews but they all had different agendas, now they’d turned their attention on each other and the entire structure of Israel imploded upon itself. All the Roman’s did was come in and sweep up.

But this is just what Revelation is showing. These guys were swarming everywhere with nothing but their own personal and individual goal in mind and they devoured everything and everyone that crossed their paths. They come and have an appearance of being sweet and approachable but they have the teeth of lions. Religious and political spirits in the church and we don’t have anymore discernment than a gnat has and we just let anyone in and anyone can blow through.

Receiving Spiritual Discipline

How many of us can say within the last few minutes that we have heard the trumpet blast in our ears. You know that God has just woke you up. You know that this wasn’t the emotions of a Pastor from a pulpit. You know that no matter how strong the word comes from the pulpit that you won’t be offended by what you hear from the word, but you understand that God loves you enough not to just leave you where you were in your conversion.

Ezekiel 16 speaks about how God saw Israel as an infant just after she was born and how he cleaned her up and cut her umbilical chord. Some of us need to have some things cut from us as well. Some of us have been birthed but we’re still lying in our own birth fluid and it’s time for God to cut the umbilical.

The enemy will try to get you to question where you are and why he brought you here. And why he continually lets me provoke you and say things to you that challenge you and make you think. It’s because God sees something in you greater than you see in yourself. God knows who you are even though you don’t know yet. It’s because God is willing to say things to you that will offend your mind and set off a great war between your ears because he want’s that old man so dead that he can live so powerfully through your life.

Utilize What’s Been Made Available

It’s not that he wants to take anything from you and make you work for your keep, but he wants to give you the world. He wants you to have everything. You have the keys of authority to all you’re in contact with, he wants to give you the vision to become engaged in releasing those things from you that have been holding you back from your perfect potential in him. It’s time for the church to tune in to the voice of the trumpet and wake up to the call of arms not to go and fight, but come into unity to the power of Christ.

It’s time we asked God for forgiveness every time we turned a deaf ear to him when we heard him whisper to our hearts “Don’t do that, or don’t say that, don’t make that commitment” and you went ahead and over-rode that voice and as a result, all hell has been loosed on us. Even though it’s been released, there is a seal on us that will keep us from losing our life all together even though the torment may seem unbearable, it’s been brought on by ourselves and it will leave when we bend our knee and confess with our mouth that He is Lord in every aspect of our life and we stop quarantining certain areas off from him. God has you sealed. He won’t let it completely destroy all of you, but sometimes he does have to take everything right down to the stump before he can rebuild his will back into your spirit.

Last Thought Chocolate Covered Locust??
As I have just read over this in preparation of going on to the next tape, one thing occurred to me about the locust that this was addressing. We see how the locust can be so destructive and we’ve learned how those that receive the Spiritual mark will not be harmed. But what just came to me was that God will take us further than just protection from the locust. If we choose to live in his will and allow our lives to be in full submission to him, the locust that destroys all around us who won’t submit, those same locust that torment others, will become food for us.

We will have the power to spiritually flourish because of them. Example? How about Elijah? And John the Baptist? Didn’t both of them, who were being a mouthpiece of God, actually live on locust? That’s where God wants to take us. We’re not going to be removed from the locust, we’re going to eat them for Breakfast with the Honey of the Spirit!!!
